This image began with a hand-drawn curve composed of many points cionnected by line segments.. The points were reduced to a small number with the Ramer-Douglas-Peucker (RDP) algorithm and then connected with smooth Bezier curves into a "Bezier Path," a sequence of Bezier curves.. The path was extrapolated into many curves on either side of the original.
We didn't break apart in stormy weather
We didn't run around like others do
Now we're not afraid when storm clouds gather
'Cuz we got the kind of love that'll see us though
We've got smooth sailing, sailing
Looks like every drop of rain is gone, gone, gone
Smooth sailing, sailing
And a blue sky full of rainbows from now on

The commonly used expression by boaters and fishermen, "Smooth As Glass", is rarely as true as it is here. Because in the tidal waters it is rare that it is truely so smooth as this. You almost cant tell where the water stop and the sky begins. A beautiful sunrise and reflection of it. :)

In Central Wisconsin, some smooth green snakes develop a tan coloration, which is not seen in other areas. Presumably to help them blend in with the sand and brown vegetation. In this area they range from bright green to completely tan.

Different day. Different fire. Different lens.
Water demand is through the roof. Looking at a string of 100+ days ahead. It was 80 degrees with winds to 20 mph at 5 am this morning. Going to be too hot to water mid day. I'll drop to 16 hours, or 1", applications, twice every 6 days per section instead of 24 hours, or 1.28" every 5 days per section. Important part is to get the water penetration 12" deep with each watering.

This was from a batch of shots I took a few weeks ago that were, being blunt, utterly terrible. The exposure was all wrong, I bodged camera settings left right and center; it was almost like I hadn't used the camera for so long I was actually unlearning things!
Add in the fact that the day was overcast and it felt like a bit of a washout really.
Enter a copy of Lightroom 4 which I just received today and as a simple test of some of the new features I used this photo. There's still a whole load of things wrong with it on a technical level, but at least now it's something half-decent and which I'm actually quite pleased with.
