This Massey Harris has so much style with it's full hood sides and chrome, I have never seen one like it before.

A design I put together for a client. The muted color pallet is interesting to me. This design uses a cool font I reviewed here: www.campphotoshop.com/Firefly-Is-A-Smooth-Font
This newt was one of many saved from certain death by cars running over them.
Each year we're a group of people who go out for a few weeks in the mating season, at night time, to save hundreds of them to cross the high speed roads to get to their mating grounds. Sadly still hundreds of newts, toads, and frogs get run over and killed.
All of these are threatened all over the world, declining in alarming numbers.
I don't see a great del of Record hand planes where I live. This is only the second no 4. Not being an expert I'd still say this one must be of later production. The lateral lever is pressed and bent steel and the frog is the recessed kind.
None of which makes this plane useless in any kind. The grooved sole is slightly scratched but in otherwise good condition, the mouth is in good shape and slightly tighter than that on the Stanley's. The Record Tungsten Vanadium cutter is one of the best standard cutters I have seen and it retains near original length.

If you look closely, you will see some of the outer bark has been sloughed away, creating a patch on the tree. This is called smooth patch and is caused by a fungus.
There are many different types of saprophytic fungi which colonize and break down the outer bark. This is a superficial infection.
In oaks, the most common culprit is Aleurodiscus oakesi.
Our Smooth Beauty Luffa is starting to fruit. I don't know if we will get a harvest before the cold weather comes.
