This snail was making slow progress, hampered by the dense grass. And my photography was also hampered by our cat Mini, who climbed onto my back as I crouched down, camera in hand, and refused to get off again! We must have looked a strange sight!
Thanks for visiting :)
A blast from the past, a road side sign from 2006. I liked it then, and I like it still. You never know what's waiting just around the corner ...

Tyndall Creek & Longs Peak
Rocky Mountain National Park, CO
I think I've finally captured my favorite shot of the year, so far! I've scouted this spot many times on the way to and from Dream Lake. Last week, I finally took a chance and went to capture the shot I've had in my head for a while now. As I arrived to Rocky on this morning, there wasn't a cloud in the sky. I was disappointed, but I hurried up to this spot and waited for the sun to rise. As the sun was reaching the horizon, these clouds began to slowly form over Longs. I got pretty excited as they began to light up and complete my composition. I used a 2 stop medium grad to help balance the exposure out. Even with the filter, I was barely keeping everything within the histogram. I bracketed my exposures to be safe, but when I got home, I was able to process this from one exposure. I'm excited about this image. Can't wait to get back out for more, waitin' for a good sunrise forecast.
Thanks for reading!
Lentamente (Branduardi)
Amore mio è così che ti vedo allontanare
ed io so bene il tuo silenzio assente,
quando fra realtà e fantasia
la linea che è segnata è così grande.

Inspired by the Beatle's song "Slow Down"; this is a shot of a vintage Metronome de Maelzel by Seth Thomas Clock Co. A metronome is a mechanical or electrical instrument that makes repeated clicking sounds at an adjustable pace, used for marking rhythm, especially in practicing music.
This metronome is set at the Largo (very slow tempo) setting - HMM

looks like it'll be a few more days before we can safely leave the house....frozen sleet covering everything....almost fell twice going out to the streetside mail box......results after 3 hours of melting.
The penultimate shot before I packed away and found refuge in the car as the temperature was dropping. It was incredible seeing the sky clearing and getting beautiful purples and reds and oranges out of nowhere on an evening that looked dreich and uneventful. Definitely a location that I will be going back as there are many more shots to be taken and a lesson that I keep forgetting. Even if it doesn’t look promising and the forecast is bad go out, you don’t know what will happen. Special thanks to my friend for patiently waiting for one more click, or 10...

The Merced River is low in its banks this autumn and running slowly. We have some color in the willow leaves, frost on the grasses, and mist in the morning air.
#CN305 with an ex CREX (now CN) slows down before the crossover switches at Coteau East, to wait for a VIA to make its station stop at the Coteau station, before they can continue westward to Toronto.
In the gardens at Farm Lator in north east Hungary.
This was an unexpected find, taking a look around the pond in the garden trying to catch a glimpse of the raft spiders when I noticed these two emerging, just out of shot there are two more clambering up the stem from the water below.
The biggest problem was trying to get them both in the same focal plane, not helped by a light breeze, needless to say I took a large number of shots over a period of an hour as they both slowly emerged from their larval casings.
Can't be sure which species they are other than Chasers, there were a few adults on the wing which looked very much like Broad bodied Chasers to me.
