The picking at Swanton Berry farm was a little slim that day. A lot of the strawberry patch was like this. Between five of us, we managed to get about two baskets of good berries.

Just north of Santa Cruz, California.

Slim is tricky to photograph, as he is very friendly and is always walking toward me for pats. He didn't mind today's chilly weather.

Australian Pelicans, Pelecanus conspicillatus, are ravenous eaters by all accounts consuming up to 9kg of food per day. They are not fussy eaters with a diet including small fish, crustaceans, insects, turtles, and even seagulls and ducklings. The latter being caught and drowned underwater before being swallowed. This fellow, pictured gulping down a small freshwater shrimp, looked to be in for a long day's work searching for food if his results whilst I was there was anything to go by.

Playstation 3 Slim - a new 120 GB model announced, it's a great time to pick up a Playstation 3 Slim to play games and watch Blu-ray movies.

I have an 80 Gb PS3, so will probably not be getting one. That having beens said. this may be the answer Sony has been looking for. With the Large Hdd and the pricing, it may be the thing to get the consumers attention. The biggest problem I have heard concerning the PS3 is price. This is a very good price for what you will be getting. This may push those who were on the fence about laying out the money, over to buying one. Hopefully, this Playstation 3 Slim new developement will be the thing to spur sales of the console and by extention create greater support by game developers for the PS3. It is only $[...] more then the Wii and you get a heckuva lot more for your buck. As for lack of backwards compatibility, no problem. The PS2 slimline has come down in price. I also have a PS2 ( Non Slimline )so I enjoy games for both.

finished some tuck zips for an order

I'm always looking for interesting people to photograph, so until Magi the Bard of the Braes of Balquidder returns in a few days, let me introduce Slim, the local leather and wood craftsman. A New Zealander of Scots decent (I suspect it's because of his wife that he is here. My father always said of my mum, "Marry a woman from hell and she'll drag you back there" to explain why we were living in Caithness).

Well, Slim (spoken with a heavy Kiwi accent) is a craftsman who offers half day, full day and two day courses in leather making and carving courses. I pictured him and his tools, dyes and stains working in his Salen workshop. Steampunk items, handbags, purses, key fobs, mini-sporrans, bookmarks, baggage tags, wallets, bespoke bags of all types, custom and commissioned beautiful, unique pieces fashioned from high quality leather. His pieces are finely crafted and on sale in craft shops across the Highlands. But for your own satisfaction why not make your own, with his guidance?
