The moon rolled with a noticeable limp as it traversed a ridge line near the Vista del Bofecillos campsite in Big Bend Ranch State Park.

Slightly desaturated, otherwise as taken!

Only i was getting on the top of all my recent photos I am going away again:-) Never ending story:-) Back in a week.

Wish you good week ahead!

The amazing quality of the light is what impressed me first when I witnessed this scene. It was so intense that I had to slightly desaturate the reddest part of the sky to retain detail! See the big version. No HDR!

On this stretch of coastline on Isla Mujeres, the trade winds blow constantly, sending clouds and storms from Africa and keeping temperatures moderate. These rocks were under the sand until hurricane Wilma scored a direct hit on this area with wind gusts exceeding 200 mph. The newly exposed rocks were sharpened by the winds, so my legs got rather badly scratched up by the time I arrived at this spot. In this photo, a tropical

storm warning had just been issued and the winds were kicking up increasingly large surf, but the storm turned and headed out to sea later that day.

I used the light to show the reflectivity and color of the water. Also, the light filtering through the cloud deck shows its layers. A colorful sunrise is nice but this is more about the warm breeze blowing along the water and through the clouds. Fortunately the sky opened up for just a minute. Most of the time, it was either overcast or too bright. Good even filtered light is usually best when shooting towards the sun. Bright light and blues skies might be good for tourist brochures, but low warm light enhances the mood of an image.

It’s ok to smile for show only. That’s the simplest way to avoid the almost certain ensuing questions you’d really rather not answer.

Slightly over cooked stand alone shot.

Slightly different version of the same image of sheep roaming the beach at Portuairk, Ardnamurchan, Scotland. Honestly the sheep have moved but the grass must taste good. I previously edited this image on Snapseed and this is on Lightroom Classic.

The low walls of the slightly rebuilt Relics of Recreation and Reactivation still have an abiding air about them. The Sauna Room of the Four Temperature Controlled Rooms here catches the shadows falling into the structures as the light streams past.

Mediobogdum Roman Fort on Hardknott Pass in the Lake District has some great slightly rebuilt ruins. The light on this evening was a splendid Sun bath and banquet lighting the way to older notions and even initiation upon a ladder of lights that illuminated all of the ways to become enlightened, ignited and rejoicing in the light. This remote mountain pass with amazing ruin is an almost unbelievable location to find history and to enjoy mystery.

“It consisted of four ‘rooms’ – one containing the furnace (at the far end), and the others with hot, warm and cold baths. To the left, a circular room with its own furnace was used much like a modern sauna.”

A long time ago now myself and Goose were slightly drunk, drinking deep from the bottle and posting random videos in Facebook on a Friday night.

We found one and even now whenever certain things crop up this video reminds us of a really funny night.

Perhaps slightly dark, but I like the mood.

I decided to leave any of the major paths and strike out on the tiny dotted lines that show up on my OS map. It made for a bit of a scramble as whole trees or just their branches are left to rot in situ where they fall, and there are many more trip-hazards hidden in the thick layers of fallen leaves, but it did mean I never saw another soul until back on the main paths.

At home with a horrible cold, best I could do today was sit and watch the garden birds through the window, always enjoyable.

A cold and slightly frosty morning

A view, on a slightly hazy day, taken from Kirkstone Pass in beautiful Cumbria showing the winding road of the pass and some of the amazing scenery of the Lake District. The lake at the centre of the picture is Brotherswater which is close to the village of Hartsop and the large hill in the background is Place Fell, elevation 657m (2156ft).

Slightly better than my last (first) dragonfly in-flight shot last week! I'll keep practicing, the faster focussing on the EOS R6 (compared to the EOS R) is helping.
