This AEC Regent V started life in June 1959 as a Double Decker half cab (but with full front) and sliding front entrance Park Royal bodywork.
By 1974 it was relegated to East Kent driver training duties.
By 1975 it had lost its roof, been painted into National White with a red stripe and was noted at Victoria Coach Station, London.
By 1980 it had been cut down further to resemble the vehicle seen here, painted all over yellow and was in quite a battered state working for Maidston & District.
Somehow, the vehicle ended up with Go Goodiwins in Manchester but was sold again in 2016.
Now 2017 It is seen here, newly restored and in the South Yorkshire Transport Museum, Aldwarke, Rotherham.

On March 28, 2008, I rode with my friend from Brooksville, Florida on a NARCOA (North American Railcar Owners Association) sponsored excursion in his Railcar (aka:Speeder) from Lake Wales to Frost Proof, Florida and back along the Florida Midland Railroad (a Pinsley Railroad) line between Lake Wales and and Frostproof, Florida.
This Photograph shows the former SEABOARD Freight Depot on the Florida Midland Railroad Line (Pinsley Line). It now serves the Lake Wales Model Railroad Club. It is located near the Former Atlantic Coast Line Passenger Depot in Lake Wales, Florida.

we could see Mackinac Island from the room, off to the right, but not looking straight out
"Mackinac" is pronounced just the same as the town name "Mackinaw" -- simply Anglicizing the French form, which in turn had shifted the pronunciation of the Anishinaabe (Ojibwe) word for "turtle"

Step into the serene charm of Japan's historic districts with this image of a traditional wooden house, found Kanazawa's Higashi Chaya. The house, bathed in the warm glow of lantern light, exemplifies the elegance of traditional Japanese architecture. Wooden lattice windows and sliding shoji doors are meticulously crafted, allowing soft light to filter through, enhancing privacy while creating a cozy ambiance. The tiled roof, with its gentle curves, not only adds aesthetic beauty but also serves a practical function, efficiently channeling rainwater away.
The intricate woodwork of the house is highlighted by the soft lighting from exterior lanterns, casting a welcoming glow. These lanterns, both functional and decorative, add to the enchanting atmosphere. A bicycle, casually parked outside, injects a slice of everyday life, reminding us that these historic homes are still vibrant parts of modern Japan.
The clean, quiet street, lined with neatly arranged stones and potted plants, enhances the tranquil setting. This scene captures the essence of traditional Japanese living, where simplicity, elegance, and harmony with nature are paramount. It's a beautiful reminder of the importance of preserving such architectural treasures, which offer a window into Japan's rich cultural and historical legacy.
Whether you're a history enthusiast, an architecture lover, or simply seeking a moment of calm, this traditional wooden house provides a glimpse into the timeless beauty and tranquility of Japan's architectural heritage.

Like every year there was a nice fair around the NDSM at 'Koningsdag'. Children could offer their toys for sale and lots of food vans were present to complete the party.

As always with my models, I tried to get as many working features into as I could, with all the doors opening. A big part of the fun of building this was the interior, with custom white captain's seats.
This remarkable design was made by Gerard Welter in cooperation with Studio Pininfarina. The prototype was presented in 2002. Sales started in April 2005.
The car was relatively expensive. Low sale figures made the 1007 project finally commercially unsuccessful.
The sliding doors are very unusual for a small passenger car like this.

As has become the norm for my minifig scale models, I just had to have a sliding door. I'm not to keen on the fact that there is no B-pillar as such, but anything I tried to wedge in there looked more awkward than not having one.

This car has been scrapped after June 2015. So I was right on time recording this 80s car, which has become rare in our streets nowadays.
Posting last year finds I noticed that a lot of 80s cars have been scrapped meanwhile. This category of cars form a very vulnerable group of cars: to old to compete with current cars, to young to be considered as classic cars. Therefore they suffer by the lack of protection they deserve. They're depending on the goodness of the individual car enthusiast.

After a while, decay and neglect can become picturesque.
A sliding door on Gravesend's Albion Parade, which I passed many times and thought I'd eventually get the perfect photo of it and never did.
It hung on for some years, but I checked on Google Maps and it's gone. Doesn't look like it was replaced...
I don't know who the Coppersmiths were, or what they made.

This private residence called Tojo-tei is located in Japan, Matsudo city, Chiba prefecture, not far from Tokyo.
"Tojo House, an unofficial residence of Akitake Tokugawa, occupies 728 m2, and was built in 1884. It uses the architectural style of the housing of lords in Edo era. At the same time, the building was adapted to the style of the Meiji era. The garden is one of the early examples of eclectic gardens in Japan which has undulating lawn surrounded by bushes and trees. It is designated as a beautiful sight of Chiba prefecture."
When visiting I was blessed with beautiful light for taking pictures. Due to lack of time, arriving 30 minutes before closing time, I took all pictures with just one lens, my recently bought (old/used) Tammy SP 24-135. I definitely have to go again with a wider angle lens.
