Yes, I will take a slice a la mode, if you please!
This photo was taken by a Hasselblad 500C medium format film camera with a Carl Zeiss Distagon 1:4 f=50mm lens and a Kowa L39•3C(UV) ø67 filter using Fuji 160NS film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.
Trying out an idea shooting lemon slices on a lightbox (made from a piece of paper on a glass table and a strobe underneath) - didn't really work out (how I was hoping)... but some interesting results... with a bit of fiddling in Photoshop. This is one of the image from one of the channels (the blue one I think, as far as I can remember).

A slice of light penetrates the sky aligning itself with the horizon. The sun is setting by the Calgary reservoir and an apartment structure is caught in that same light with a reflection off the water below.
Taken right around midnight tonight, I could not resist snapping some shots of this beautifully glowing crescent moon!
Backlit with a nikon sb600 flash with light green filter and piece of white cotton gauze on top of the flash to diffuse the light. The kiwi slices are on a thin translucent white board and the flash is shooting straight up. Camera is mounted on a tripod pointing down. Also had a diffused studio light from the left that really did not add too much.
Found this recipe on a foodnetwork show called The Pioneer Woman hosted by Ree Drummond. (Episode: The Drummond Bunch). My directions are on the photo. You can find the original directions by Ree Drummond below. Enjoy!

Prep Time: 3 min
Inactive Prep Time: --
Cook Time: 2 min
Level: Easy
Serves: 1 egg-in-the-hole
INGREDIENTS:
1 slice of your favorite kind of bread
1 tablespoon butter
1 egg
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
DIRECTIONS:
With a biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass, press a hole in the center of the slice of bread.
Heat a skillet over medium-low heat and melt in the butter.
When the butter is all spread out, place the piece of bread in the skillet and crack the egg straight into the center of the hole.
Cook until the egg sets a bit on the bottom, 30 to 45 seconds.
Sprinkle the egg with salt and pepper.
After about a minute, flip it over with a spatula and salt and pepper the other side.
Move the whole piece of toast around the skillet, soaking up all of the glorious butter.
Let it cook until the yolk feels soft.
Here's the key: golden brown toast, white (not brown/burned) whites, soft unbroken yolk.
Perfect.

When cut, an icebox cake is a messy, haphazard beauty, especially when one tries to get fancy and fit square cookies into a round tin.
And It's my favourite cake of the whole darn year.
