This was an educational and engrossing challenge , I used the fishing line strung across a black box for each slice individually , then masked each one and then layered them ,used masks to layer each one individually onto a background that I had first created, along with the drops which was One drop I created and then using copy paste and transform moved it around in the image to create a pleasing composition.
Don't let your wife loose in the kitchen with a sharp knife and your camera equipment or this could be the result!!!!!!

"Watermelon Slice Painterly" by Patti Deters. Nothing says summer like a big slice of juicy fruity watermelon. This digital art painting sketch is bright and cheerful with all the fun colors of my favorite refreshing summertime snack food - fuchsia pink, white, minty green, with tiny black seeds. With the green and white rind, and the shades of pink fruit painted across the canvas, this makes for a cool piece of abstract art. Just messing with black and white processing for the Woodward show. I love how the Skillman Branch of the Detroit Public Library looks like a slice of pie or pizza.
The Atlantic hoves into view once more while walking on the Pembrokeshire coast path.
Hand-held and polarised and taking my time...
A sailboat catching some wind along the Marginal Way in Ogunquit, Maine. The air temperature was perfect, and so was the scenery. Days like these make me happy, especially when I'm traveling somewhere.

Sliced strawberries, lemons and limes arranged on a homemade lightbox (a sheet of perspex sat on a glass topped coffee table, lit by a single flash from below)
Entered into Buckingham Camera Club's POTY 2018 Round 4 (Abstraction From Nature):
Judge's Comments : Love it. Clever. Glad there's no kiwi fruit. Like that there are reds included and the fruit are overlapping. Held back.
Judge's Score : 18/20
