When Venice sleeps you can ear the sound of silence! I think not so many city, specially in Europe, can gives you this sensation of calm: i love it so much!
(Demon Yūrei) Sleep paralysis is a strange phenomenon where you are awake but can't move or speak, usually when falling asleep or waking up.

My first Comma butterfly of the year, and what a beauty. Probably just emerged that morning.
This was my joint “most favourited” picture of 2018, thank you all very much for interest in my photographs.
A photo taken at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Michigan, near the town of Empire. The young woman in the green bathing suit ( lower left ) is just finishing the strenuous 'dune climb' from the lake's edge, about 60’ uphill in loose sand. If you go downhill to the water and can’t make it back up, there is a much easier walk-out about a half-mile down the beach.
The other folks walking on the sandy path to the right are heading over the hill to the scenic viewing platform that sticks-out over the dunes. You can just see the end of that platform near the bottom of the trees where the water meets the sky ( on the left ).

This is the Miller Barn from across the field to its south, with the distant, now-grown over back of the large dunes in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, September, 2024. I get as much enjoyment with a camera in these meadows as I do on the dunes themselves, much like one may get in the flats at the Tetons. On this visit, haze from the western US wildfires dominated the skies.

Last year I had finally had a chance to visit the extraordinary beach of Barrika in the Basque Country of wich i had seen somany great photos. This beach was on my must-visit list forever.
This beautiful beach is also very challenging photographically speaking because even offering you somany chances to compose you stel need to be lucky not only with the weather, but also with the tides...our luck was...so and so :)

Sleeping at last, the trouble and tumult over,

Saw this when we were in Andalucia in February, and the more I looked at it the more it really looked like a sleeping giant. It can be seen from miles around, whether driving or on the train

Paranoid personality disorder is a psychiatric diagnosis characterized by paranoia and a pervasive, long-standing suspiciousness and generalized mistrust of others.
Those with the condition are hypersensitive, are easily slighted, and habitually relate to the world by vigilant scanning of the environment for clues or suggestions to validate their prejudicial ideas or biases. Paranoid individuals are eager observers. They think they are in danger and look for signs and threats of that danger, disregarding any facts. ( Waldinger, 1997). They tend to be guarded and suspicious and have quite constricted emotional lives. Their incapacity for meaningful emotional involvement and the general pattern of isolated withdrawal often lend a quality of schizoid isolation to their life experience
Late at night, in the parts of town that never sleep. 2013 photograph, printed 2014. I'm trying to represent more in this picture than just the trains. It is a project portraying one of the strongest foundations of Minnesota's economy, and how after World War 2 much of the wheat in the world was supplied by states in the Midwest of America. Today it's a much more silent endeavor, one that I think few remember, but still important. Hence the title 'Never Sleeps'.
