I'm slowly getting getting back on Flickr after a hiatus. Submitted for your approval, we find a beautiful California Sister butterfly resting on a vibrant Single Stem Groundsel. This was captured along Soda Springs Road, on the west slope of the Sierra Nevada.
My sister at her home in London, with Nala.
95 per cent of the shots are of her laughing at my attempts to get Nala to do things for the picture, or point at the window to get some light on her face.

This is my sister, and the white glow is my hair blowing in front of the lens.

Katya, our 8 year old, was just baptised today. This is one of her "adopted" big sisters, Alexa, and her shortly afterwards. Alexa had flown up from CalPoly Pomona just to attend this special event for Katya. Alexa and her family have been involved with ours for the past 9 years and we couldn't see ourselves ever being without them. Our girls are immensely attached to their "siblings" in the Lowry family as are Sindi and I.
I've always had a soft spot for Class 31s. Something of an unsung loco in my book. For me, any preserved railway that has one on its books means that it'll be the one I want shots of. Fortunately the Spa Valley Railway has its resident 31 420 "Sister Dora", here, pulling away from the 'new' Groombridge' station. The name board on the far left looks like it came from the original station where I'm standing. Notice the old platform edge down the right of the picture. When this line closed under BR, much of the original Groombridge Station disappeared under housing. The main station building still exists but the preserved line now has to make a 'detour' around the housing development. When the line passed into preservation a new station beyond the bridge was built instead.

Rune and Cooky are really cutes Lady and nice person , very challenging personality but they make it for years now! In many way they are growing and getting strong. I am impress by them.
My Aunt Dot (left), who is 93 years old, visited my mom (right, age 86) this week...another set of sisters, Dot's daughter-in-law, Carol, and her sister Janice, drove Aunt Dot from Wellsboro, PA to Rochester - it was a wonderful visit for all of us...
I wanted the clothes of the sister.
It was released in Azone just when I intended to made it because I was not found!

The little sister on the back didn't want to look at me or smile throughout most of the session, but I happened to capture this moment! I love it!!
For several years this young lady worked next to her sister serving food and drinks at the Texas Renaissance Festival in Todd Mission, Texas. In 2019 they wereworking at different place on opposite ends of the faire but both as lovely as ever.
A sister can be as someone who is both ourselves
and very much not ourselves - a special kind of double.
