Taken in Glencoe, Scotland. Three climbers about to take the path up into the three sisters mountain range.
The highest mountain in the old county of Argyll, Bidean nam Bian is the whole majestic range of mountains on the south side of Glen Coe. It's dramatic northern ridges are known as the Three Sisters, whilst the highest summits of the group are hidden away behind.
TERRAIN
Steep, rocky and complex terrain. There are well-worn paths for much of the route (indistinct for route up Stob Coire nan Lochan) but the terrain is very rocky and there are sections of steep scree and very mild scrambling. The descent from Bealach Dearg is initially very steep and loose. It usually holds snow until well into summer, making it even more difficult - be prepared for this or save this route for when the snow is gone

North and Middle Sisters of Central Oregon's Three Sisters mountains stand proudly in late spring sunlight. In the fore ground new growth spreads like a carpet among a forest of silvered trees made so by a devastating wildfire a few summers ago.
Sisters. Family isn't always blood, sometimes it who we choose. Family is also fluid sometimes we are together and sometimes we do our own thing. One thing remains our hearts are always tied together!!
How many nights spent observing the Moon.
How many nights he spent in his company.
How many Poems inspired by its light and its charm.
On one of these nights I wanted to pay tribute to her.
Hidden among branches and leaves that appear like birds in love on summer nights, here is Sister Moon, this shot is for you.
The Aboriginal dream-time legend has it that three sisters, 'Meehni', 'Wimlah' and 'Gunnedoo' lived in the Jamison Valley as members of the Katoomba tribe.
These beautiful young ladies had fallen in love with three brothers from the Nepean tribe, yet tribal law forbade them to marry.
The brothers were not happy to accept this law and so decided to use force to capture the three sisters causing a major tribal battle.
As the lives of the three sisters were seriously in danger, a witchdoctor from the Katoomba tribe took it upon himself to turn the three sisters into stone to protect them from any harm. While he had intended to reverse the spell when the battle was over, the witchdoctor himself was killed. As only he could reverse the spell to return the ladies to their former beauty, the sisters remain in their magnificent rock formation as a reminder of this battle for generations to come.
Each of the Three Sisters stand at 922, 918 & 906 metres tall, respectively.

A great weekend to all my Flickr friends!
The Three Sisters of Mahone Bay, Anglican, Lutheran, and United churches are perhaps the most photographed buildings in Nova Scotia, Canada. This view across the harbour of the three churches has been on many postcards and calendars including mine.
At the summit of Mount Diablo, surrounded by hundreds of huge dragonflies. They seem to like the lee side of the summit, when it's windy.

Fuchsia is a genus of flowering plants that consists mostly of shrubs or small trees. The first, Fuchsia triphylla, was discovered on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola about 1696–1697 by the French Minim monk and botanist, Charles Plumier, during his third expedition to the Greater Antilles. He named the new genus after German botanist Leonhart Fuchs.

Another photo from 2008 brought forward while I wallow in my Flickr archives - it's -38C with the wind chill at Keefer Lake right now (but I just put another log on the fire and poured myself a single malt).

Another take on these 'Seven Sisters' in British Columbia is in the first comment box below.
The 'Seven Sisters' are rarely seen in clear weather as in this photo ... typically they are shrouded in rain clouds but they are always beautiful regardless of the weather. This set of peaks are in my 'home region' in British Columbia's coastal range. In a "you couldn't make this stuff up" kind of way ... there is a set of equally spectacular peaks that can be seen from my Mother's birthplace in Norway that are also named the 'Seven Sisters' ... 'Syv Søstre.'

Today, the ranch vet came to examine our future mother. It was a routine visit like every month, we are on her 4th, to see how her gestation is going. We also let her sister keep her company, so she's not too stressed. It's always heart warming to see how those two are watching over each other.

We got our wee Tilly on Monday 29th April 2024 and today was the first day we had wee Tilly on the beach. She actually had her first wee swim too. I just wanted to capture this milestone. Tilly is a wee rescue dog who has had a bad start to life but now she is enjoying her puppy life the way she should have been doing from the beginning. Running free on the beach with no lead with her big sister Ashala. I do believe they are actually sister's but obviously not from the same litter. It is too long a story to explain why I believe this but I believe it 100%. I wanted to introduce Tilly to this account first but any other pictures I take of Tilly I will upload them to Ashala's account and change the account to Ashala and Tilly. I look forward to talking pictures of Tilly on her own and with Ashala.
