When he was alive, my Dad always picked one of these flowers and gave it to my Mom on her birthday. Her birthday was the day after I took this picture, so this is my version of doing that.

So some time back I was hired to do some photographs of single cup brewing devices. When I was done, I was told "just keep them or give them away".
In the meantime, one of the most frequent questions I *don't* play or answer on the CoffeeGeek Podcast is "which single cup brewer is best?". It's also a frequent email question from CG lurkers who don't post.
So.... long story short, I decided to put these through a whole variety of tests. I may or may not write a review on CoffeeGeek about it. Haven't made my mind up yet - should I?
Short answer though: out of four units tested (two variants of the Philips Senseo, this one and the Black and Decker model), this one brewed the best cup, and came with the best coffee pods (in terms of quality - which isn't saying much regardless, but at least they were arabica).

To get from the ferry pier to the train station is about a 3/4 mile walk through the woods and up a very steep slope (there are wooden stairs). We kept wondering if we were going the right way because there were no other people, forks in the path and no signage. Not a walk I would want to take after dark.
Tendered in to South Queensferry, walked through the woods to the railway station and rode ScotRail into Edinburgh for a stroll around town.
This is a single frame of the nearly eclipsed moon from last night.
I found that the longest exposure that I could reasonably use with the 300 mm lens is no more than .5 seconds. Anything longer gave star trails and thus blurred features on the moon's face. In retrospect, I probably should have set up the telescope mount.
For this image, I brought the raw file into PPL4 and applied a slight curve to bring up the darks and temper the lights, some noise reduction, and cropping.
