I can say that, if you don't make the top strongly enough, the stick can suddenly pop through, and the cone will slide down the pole, and totally pancake. This could, for example, happen THREE times and you could get irritated about the whole thing. A fat pole is easier structurally, because the load spreads at the top, but the thin pole looks better.

Shooting Sony a9 body, with Metabones EF-to-E adapter version V, driving a Canon 500mm lens. Here, I'm using Single-point AF with the Canon 500mm lens.

The performance was about the same as my Canon 5D MkIV, when using single-point AF, to shoot in tight spots, like this.

Very boring composition but as my first (almost) successful closeup stereo, I rather like it's simplicity.

A cross-view stereo (3D) photo created with StereoPhoto Maker. To view it in 3D you need to slightly cross your eyes whilst viewing at a comfortable distance. The right eye views the left image and vice versa. A third image in 3D will appear between the other two. If it doesn't work at first, relax and try different distances.
