12 year old Aultmore single malt Scotch whisky, unveiled in 2014 for the Last Great Malts by Dewar's. A refreshing dram, with plenty of vanilla, honey and citrus, alongside a touch of grassiness. It's been quite a while since a distillery bottling of Aultmore has been released, so this is all rather exciting indeed. ~ www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/aultmore/aultmore-12-year-o...

Took a picture from about the same spot last year, but at the beginning of October instead of the end. A different focal length resulted in different framing and perspective. There's way more fall color and the grass not as green. And there's only solitary pumpkin this year.

A close-up shot of Mary, an Asian elephant, at the San Diego Zoo in California.
Asian elephants can be differentiated from African elephants by their smaller ears and single-finger trunk ends. The San Diego Zoo houses a pair of both Asian and African elephants, and works with different organizations to protect them from being hunted for their tusks.

Finally finished :) Denyse Schmidt's pattern, made from a selection of Heather Ross FFA1 and FFA2, Hope Valley, and others. Klona natural background and Hope Valley binding. Hand quilted in hot pink perle cotton.
This narrow one-lane tunnel passes through the Marin headlands. Traffic lights [hopefully] allow only cars traveling in one direction to alternatively pass through the tunnel.
This was shot from a moving car using an ISO of 3200. (I was not driving, by the way.) The orange color is from the sodium-vapor lights inside the tunnel. It's actually more of a concrete gray.

A single hand held shot of Edinburgh Castle a few minutes after the Tattoo had ended and as all the crowds were heading for the gate in the opposite direction - and all the more serious photographers were lining up to get this shot! :-)
I took loads of shots to be on the safe side but this was only the second one to be taken and the only one that was sharp enough to use - unfortunately I had to clone out a few soldiers who were in the image in order to use it :-)
No house styling with this one - everything I tried just looked wrong
Thanks for visiting and I hope that you enjoy the work
