A snapshot of Direct Numerical Simulation(DNS) of Turbulent Channel Flow (Re_tau = 5200). The simulation is solving Navier-Stokes equation without sub-grid modeling.
The number of grid points are 121 billion(=10240x1536x7680) for each velocity component.

On the top, it shows the velocity gradient at the wall, which is basically the surface drag of fluid motion at the wall.
Understanding the impacts of vegetation on soil loss is important to helping land managers take care of the land. Through the use of large-scale rainfall simulation, we studied the impacts of brush removal on military training lands and how much soil is saved/lost before and after the land treatment.
Day 3 - Mystery Event Level 2. The Level 2 Mystery Event of the 2014 USARPAC Warrior Challenge featured was held at the Medical Simulation Training Center. Events included evaluating a casualty, performing first aid to an extremity, performing first aid in an open abdominal wound and a 9-line MEDEVAC request. The event included an outdoor trauma lane as well as an indoor blood trauma lane. Competitors had to perform tactical medical care in an outdoor environment, as well as treating casualties in an indoor environment with combat sound effects, thus creating a stressful environment. Combat Casualty Care Course C4, in Chile, Students from 6 Latino American Countries, made Medical Simulation Skills Stations, using the state of the art in Human Patient Simulation at the field, with iStan METI, METIman, Meti ECS and the new CAE Caesar, and also some Laerdal Megacode Kelly and Simman patient simulators. During seven days, 158 Doctors, Dentist, Nurses, Medics, and Navy Marines and Special Forces, from all the Armed Forces of Chile, and also some guest (7) from other countries like Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Paraguay, have the opportunity to learn the most advanced technics and skills in Combat Casualty Care, with lessons learned in the Global War on Terrorism, with 50 instructors from Chile and the DMRTI (USA). This was the 10th version of this program in Chile, since 2003, and the only one country outside the US, running the program.
