Fabric was just some remnant found in an Opportunity (thrift) shop. Buttons were recycled from an old dress, and new bias-binding and interfacing was used. Whole thing probably cost under $4.00 AU. Bargain!!!
Zippers are my kryptonite. Grrr. This was my first time sewing in sleeves--the first one had to be ripped out and resewn and gave me a migraine. The second one went much better, though.

*Love* this skirt. This and the vest were pieced out of several remnant lengths of a lightweight chocolate wool tweed from the Mill End Store here in P-town. Slightly different seaming on the front than the orange corduroy. This is the second version; the front is interfaced with fusible interfacing and it's lined. Unfortunately OOP!
Seen in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I liked the simplicity, lines and colors. Not quite sure what it all means...

Simplicity 3808 again
This time i lengthened the 6-12 month size and it fits so much better.
Lightweight denim and Moda polka dots with red top stitching and wood buttons.
Simplicity is...the love of a child. Joshua made this mug for me in art class at school. He was so proud to give it to me. Sometimes I don't feel like a great parent. I see my flaws. But he doesn't see any of it. He tells me he loves me and showers me with compliments on a daily basis.

I made the wrap version, with the short sleeves and the belt.
The fabric is a cotton voile from Westminster Fibers, in a colorway that is ideal for someone with three black and white dogs.
I thought the fabric would be too sheer to wear without a slip or lining but it turns it's absolutely fine without, which is great. This a perfect summer dress.

Just a simple chair: original image rotated 90 degrees, duplicated, flipped horizontally, duplicate moved on original, blended with multiply, moved horizontally until pattern is revealed. Finally cropped and adjusted to taste.

I cut a size 4 top, graded to a size 6 at the waist. This dress is short--I didn't adjust the length at all, and I'm under 5'3". If you're of normal height, I'd recommend cutting at the hemline for view A (the gathered waist version).
Pattern is one of my favorites but now out of print. fabric is a nice, soft shirting from the 2.95 pile at G Street Fabrics.
Sewing the collar and getting the amount of gathering needed for this pattern was a bit of a nightmare. Took me 2 hours of sewing-ripping-sewing-ripping.... to get it right. But it was a good learning experience & I'm sure I'll eventually use this pattern again. Someone with more sewing experience might have no trouble at all.
