Some of the floats were simple, while others were more elaborate. Most were pulled by a variety of big rigs that included road sanders, dump trucks and even a 16-wheeler.

We had a day out at Drayton Manor theme park today. I love that amongst the rides they have a little zoo with a selection of animals to look at.
A few years ago my husband adopted a meerkat for me as a present so whenever we visit Drayton Manor I always pay them a visit.
I have no idea if this is my adoptee, Aja but he/she was willing to pose for a pretty decent picture so maybe it was.

I did another frilly thing before that I got from a tutorial and so I decided to my own original frilly thingy that was more original... but still simple... I like simple sometimes :-)

The church of St Michael at Eastwell looks ordinary enough on the outside, a simple ironstone church of mostly 13th/14th century date with a slender west tower.
Inside however is a highly unusual feature, the chancel is almost entirely hidden from the nave by a medieval stone screen, pierced by a doorway and two traceried windows, surmounted by a plaster wall above, all whitewashed and effectively cutting off the chancel as a separate space.
The chancel itself has the feel of a chapel for private prayer, and feels quite remote from the nave even when the church is being used. It contains a fine 14th century tomb with the effigy of a priest in a canopied recess.
Eastwell church is normally open and welcoming to visitors. We were given a warm reception here.
A very simple composition, three prominent trees reflected in the water. I could not resist to take a photo of this scene. Since it had already very little color I chose to process it as b&w image, but I'm not entirely satisfied with the result.
