Craft with my daughter when we have time to create someting new and interesting :) Those were a good project.

This took a bit of time to PP, anything that takes me a while to do I always think is not quite right and perhaps should be left, so not sure but this may start to annoy me!
I carved this out to make a stamp that said, "simple."
I was in a point in my life where I wanted simplicity. Researching buddhism, minimalizing my belongings, trying to simplify my emotions, simplify my artwork. I experimented with concepts and theories in my research sketchbook. Breaking down images to the bare minimum, until you can barely recognize them anymore, but you still know what the image is supposed to be? Or how about getting a message across with just symbols and shapes, in black and white? Trying not to use color, trying to be able to express without color. Making people take a step back, make things simple, things can be less complex. People are always making things more difficult than they need to.
I wanted to take this "simple." image and put it on billboards starting in this area, and then eventually it would go on billboards all around the nation, maybe even internationally. Just the "simple." in black, in the middle, fairly small compared to the rest of the billboard, and the rest would just be white. Focusing right on "simple." Maybe changing every 5 seconds or whatever feasable time, to have "com" pop up after the "simple." Create a website built on a simple philosophy for life. Things you can do to live a simpler, yet still meaningful (if not more) life.
