As I soared above the treetops in the early morning light, I witnessed a breathtaking scene below. The sun was just beginning to rise, casting a warm, golden glow through the dense silhouettes of the trees. The sky was a canvas of colors, transitioning from deep blues to vibrant oranges and yellows, creating a stunning backdrop for the dark outlines of the trees.

The trees stood tall and proud, their branches reaching out like intricate lacework against the glowing sky. The interplay of light and shadow created a serene and tranquil mood, as if the world was slowly waking up to the promise of a new day. The golden hour light bathed the scene in a soft, ethereal glow, highlighting the delicate details of the leaves and branches.

"Skeletons" Sunset Lake Karibe, Zimbabwe

Lake Kariba, on the Zambia\Zimbabwe border. Was created between 1958 and 1963 as a result of the construction of The Kariba Dam. The primary purpose of which was to provide hydro-electric power. Its construction and subsequent flooding of The Kariba Gorge, replaced a relatively dry and barren eco-system. With a not so dry and barren eco-system, that supports a fishing industry, tourism, wildlife, and photo-ops like this one.

The trees growing in the water are alders.

I liked the moodiness of how this tree was pretty much silhouetted against the light...

Fiery Red Horizon Hues

Taken 11.16.2014 The horizon lit up a bright fiery red just before the sun rose in Orono, Maine at Webster Park. The hues beautifully reflect in the Stillwater River along with the silhouetted trees. All beautifully contrasts with the upper atmospheric blue skies.PC:273.314
