During our smoke and hazy days the sun also suffered the effects and made it either red or close to it with gold tones.
Mission bridge lit up shortly before sunset. A little smoke from forest fires in the north east to spice it up a bit.
We've had the minor effects of storm Gerritt this week, very windy and some heavy rain, but not as bad as in the north of England and Scotland. Shortly after I took this shot of trees blowing about in the wind the rain came down again and Tasku and I got soaked!
Definitely Dreaming 'silhouette' theme. 51/52
If you're tired of seeing my dawn and wave shots, how about some trees?! Driving past a field near Kirby Moorside, I spotted the shadows and thought - nice!
Sunset colors, a smidge of haze, couple of dusty things, are those cobwebs? I don't know, but what I do know is the only thing missing is a camp fire. Willband Park, Abbotsford, BC, Canada.
This shot was taken as the sky tonight turned a bright red over the trees and mountains, visible from my balcony.
On the other smaller balcony which faces west I could see the sunset over the city, with stripes of gold and red in the sky. The city buildings and trees were outlined in a dark silhouette and made for a stark contrast to the colourful evening sky.
Scouting earlier this month. This was one of the few days where it warmed up a bit and the sun was out and the sky was a beautiful blue.
I was looking for lenticular clouds and thought that I might have found some. I had trouble finding a place to pull over to get some clear shots. Lenticular or not, these clouds were fantastic even though I didn't catch the ones that were most awesome.
Browsing in Flickr put me on to lenticular clouds and now I'm on a quest.
Setting New Moon detail from image taken between the trees.
View with dark background to see the silhouetted trees.
Don't see too many sunsets right now, but while sitting on balcony I saw these streaks in the sky from jets at sunset, took this shot with my cell phone camera.
Early morning sunrise on the Emerald Coast of Florida. I can still smell the ocean and feel the cool morning air as I sit here in my living room wishing I was back at the beach...
Three bracketed photos were taken and combined with Photomatix to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop.
Tonight the sunset was back; a good omen for a few days of some sun, mixed with clouds. However, I woke up this morning and the sky was again bleak and foggy. That's the way it goes on the west coast of BC; totally unpredictable from one day to the next.
One must take things in stride here, so off I went on my long trip for eye surgery; that went well! Returning home the sun came out! I'm still seeing a bit blurry, am limited for a few days of what I'm allowed to do, as also with last week's surgery, but all is well that ends well. My motto is to be thankful and positive.
The nearly full Super Moon taken during a break in the clouds after the New Year Fireworks, superimposed onto a stitched panorama of the sunrise on the first day of 2018. Two welcome but lucky images and hopefully a foretaste of good photographic opportunities during the next twelve months.
Panoramic stitching and post processed using Affinity Photo.
Moon and Jupiter with halos through a layer of very thin cloud. Increased saturation using Aperture to emphasise the colours.
All afternoon, the clouds were promising a nice sunset to come later... so I kept an eye out toward the forest preserve just a couple of blocks west of here. And sure enough... for about a half hour, the sky put on a show.
I shot from several perspectives in the forest preserve meadow... always trying to keep some foreground silhouette between the camera and sunset. Busy shooting from one location to the next... I was taken a bit by surprise as I finished, and gathered my gear to walk back to the car. My hands were rough and red and cold and sore. That's also when I noticed the light fleece that was just fine an hour ago, was now not quite enough to ward off the rapidly gathering evening chill.
A short while later I was nicely warming up again in front of my Mac... all that early spring sunset glowing on my monitor. Worth the runny nose and the chill! =)

The evening sky kept changing the other evening and I had hues of blues and yellows, then going into this vibrant red with yellow and darker areas. All were beautiful and this is just one of many photos I took that evening. I kept the tree line just below for added interest.
Lake Cassidy in Fog with beautiful sunrise and lake reflections of trees.

Taken for "Our Daily Challenge ... zoom"
I went to pick up my husband after bowls today and took this out across the bowling greens. About 5 minutes later there was no sun and rain was pouring down.
After yet another night of nightmares and waking up in a cold sweat every hour all trace of horror was removed with the sight from my bedroom window.
This is 3 photos stitched together.
Best viewed in LARGE (honestly, it's really beautiful).

AGFA-Ansco Shur Shot Special /// f/13 @30 sec. /// Fuji Acros Neopan 100
This camera was made in 1935 and still shoots like new. I am so impressed with the simplicity of this clever little box.
