On our recent visit the Lake District we were lucky enough to stay near Penrith in The Eden Valley. The Pennines looked like this on the first morning we were there.

A cold snap in the uk always has to be a photographic moment to enjoy

( May 19th -2021 )

The warm colours of the late afternoon sunshine, reflect onto the reservoir, as the sinking sun starts to cast shadows on the near bank.

Another picture from a recent visit to Summer House Hill at sunrise.

Made special having Caroline and the snow

Another shot from an incredible morning. In this shot I really tried to capture the atmosphere of the mist against the clearing skies.

Taken through the corner window of my bedroom and looking at the outline of the lilac tree that stands on my balcony, ready to bloom. In the background is the water of Burrard Inlet and the lights of cargo ships.

While walking outside this evening I met this older couple sitting on the bench and spoke a few words with them. They were enjoying the evening's sunset which as usual was lovely over the lake. They looked so happy and quite romantic.

Driving to the grocery store last night, I came upon this glorious sunset! Everything was bathed in pink....glad I had my camera. The people that owned this house were kind enough to let me walk through their yard to capture this!

Pickmere Lake, on the way home tonight.

I was really after a nice stand-alone silhouetted tree shot, but made do with this instead.

Added the synthesised reflection.

The trees stand like sentinels, silent, skeletal, and unmoved. Beyond them, the mountains rise in shadow, cloaked in mist and memory. The sky is thick with cloud, but it’s not the weather that weighs heavy, it’s the presence. Light barely filters through, casting no warmth, only warning. This is not a trail. It’s a threshold. The kind of place where names are forgotten and footsteps echo longer than they should. The forest doesn’t speak. It listens. And the ridge, distant and dark, watches without blinking.

The rain clouds rolling in ............

Our first evening out for along time.

A new vista but the same gorgeous light. Wonderful sky to add to the shape of the landscape.

Ishak Pasha castle at night.

The night view from Ishak Pasha Palace overlooks the lights of the city of Doğubeyazıt, Turkey, and one branch of the old Silk Road used for centuries for trading with China. It's an Ottoman era castle with construction starting in 1685. Mount Ararat, on the border with Armenia, lies behind the clouds on the horizon.

Taken from my window inside, view of Froggy Thermostat, my Balcony with light reflections from our Christmas Tree and outdoor view of homes across the street at Sunset time.

All attempts at outside DIY had to be put on hold today, due to the typical UK Bank Holiday rain..

So, I decided to have a play in photoshop and created this composite. It's a shot of silhouetted dead tree I already had, combined with Saturday night's full moon. I refrained from putting a silhouetted bat on there too, will save that for Halloween.

Driving around as the sun set behind us and looking for perfect trees! Keep trying, Dave!

An incredible sight of amazing peak of Dunagiri or Dronagiri at dusk. The pink hues made the atmosphere more attractive.

Currently looking after a Doggie in Brașov, Romania. Spotted this tree while out walking her and thought it may make a good image at sunset. Taken with the Canon 5D4 and their 50mm 1.4 lens.

Nature can give us some amazing scenes, and this sky silhoueted against the dark evergreen trees was just so exceptional and stunning in it's colour variations. An amazing view taken from my balcony one evening. These Evergreen trees are in Stanley Park wich I can see from my balcony!

Pictured here is the large lake at the Shelton Vineyard in Dobson, North Carolina. The shadow and light play was fun to watch. I wanted to stay for sunset, but we didn't have the time.

Tonight's sunset, the rains of recent days have now cleared. The pink sky providing a wonderful backdrop for the silhouette of the oak tree.

Framed by a snag in silhouette

Trees are starting to show their Spring Buds and these were some of the first ones I saw in the local Park.

Off the Road to Morwellham Quay, Tamar Valley, Devon

The red streak in the sky hailed a bit of morning sunlight on an otherwise bleak November day with a significant snowfall. The small lights you see are from cars on their way to work or wherever they were going.

Thought I'd upload this a day early, the last of my Halloween 2013 series...

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!

PP Info: Base image was the "The Grave Yard Shift" - a couple of images back in my stream. Using photoshop I expanded the canvas area, brought in more cloud (erm sorry fog) and added some extra elements; the dead tree and church, then finally toned in Lightroom.

HFF everyone, wishing you all a fantastic weekend.

Caroline and I were driving through the Elan Valley the mist was rolling in and out just as we were jumping in and out of the car with our cameras.....

Beautiful countryside.

"It is almost Fall season and the days are getting shorter. Dusk actually occurs in the horizon after sunset when the sun is no longer visible and after twilight, it is in essence the beginning of the night's darkness." ~Tomitheos
