One of the photography things I haven't been able to accomplish last year was to finish my 8 rolls of Silbersalz35 cinema film. I still have 4 rolls to go. Finishing them would be my resolution for the New Year. This particular was taken at Pacific Grove about two years ago. Time really flies.

It was getting very dark by this point, as you can see from the exposure in the shops. It's easy to handhold the XA3 because its shutter is so tiny.
After a long journey, the warm waters from the Gulf of Mexico break onto the shore in Ireland. Depending on the sea’s mood, it can be various shades of blue, as seen here, green, grey and, of course, white.

Silbersalz35 is a German startup that offers Kodak cine film re-packaged in standard 35 mm film cartridges plus development and high resolution scans. Their film is sold in packs of four cartridges.
I tried them once last winter, at the time with four rolls of their 500T tungsten balanced high ISO film.
This time I ordered a pack of four different rolls. This is the ISO 250 daylight balanced fine grain fim. Silbersalz 35 now comes in DX coded cartridges. The DX code automatically sets an overexposure by one stop.
I used the Nikon F5 with a AF Nikkor 50 lens 1:1.8D for this roll.

I have one roll of Silbersalz 500T film that shows light leaks in a form of sprockets at the bottom of two frames. I have no idea where those came from. But they seem to add to the photos and I just leave them along. That 's the cool thing about shooting film. You don't know what you 're going to get.

I was trying out some night photography with Silbersalz 500T cinefilm to see how it looks. All I can see is that it 's a pretty grainy film even more so than Cinestill 800T. But I think they are the same Kodak Vision 3 film stock except that Cinestill has removed the remjet layer. That 's why you would get halation on any blown out highlights with Cinestill. On the other hand, Silbersalz 500T is developed with the normal ECN-2 chemical used by the movie industry instead of C41. Hence, you won't get any halation at all.
