Out yesterday with Pauls Pix 53 and ianbartlett for a 12 mile circular walk from Hastings to Fairlight.

Ian messing about ... as usual :)) I did threaten to clone out "cliffs".

Just before this point, the sun broke through the clouds for a moment, and Paul said it was like God's eye shining down on us ... ah how cute :)) However, given that we were wet through, Ian and I weren't convinced it was God's eye :)))

In fairness, we more wet on the inside coz of sweating so much climbing up the chuffing hills.

We always have fun on our walks and laugh a lot.

I remember taking this shot through my car window. I always liked this sign but I bothered to take only a few shots of it. Of course it's long gone. Another Old Hwy 40 icon gone from the route through Del Paso Heights.

I don't think I have posted this zoomed out version before.

Mission district in San Francisco, CA. I usually put in the whole sign. But the little $5 digital camera I was using often gives you less than the viewer shows. However, I liked this composition and the color shift the camera gave (the sign is really more of a deep red). Palm Clix digital camera.

A Sure Sign That Summer is on the Way

« You know how fragile our minds are, Lord.

In your unlimited wisdom,

Strengthen me that, when grasshoppers fiddle in the fields,

My heart won't break with grieving.

The dream and the reality, to me, are one –

I yearn for storied names and places;

Strengthen me, Lord, that before death awhile

Grasshoppers and I might be merry together. »

If Moon Pies were only 5 cents, the building it's painted on must be pretty old. It's definitely abandoned and attracted me enough to pull off the road and shoot it.
