This old 7up sign is a Fresno landmark. It has been repainted recently and it really looks nice! Hopefully they can get the neon restored so it will look as good at night as it does in the daytime.

Sir Moses Haim Montefiore, 1st Baronet, 1784 – 1885) was a British financier and banker, activist, philanthropist and Sheriff of London.
Born to an Italian Jewish family, he donated large sums of money to promote industry, business, economic development, education and health amongst the Jewish community in the Levant (modern day Israel).
I didn't feel like cooking yesterday after a day sailing. One number one with onions later, the fact that I had passed on a chocolate shake hung over me like a dark cloud.
So we went to Foster's Freeze and each had a small, dipped half-and-half cone.
I suppose that sometimes you have to live a little. But I should go run or something.
The Crown Hotel on Skelhorne Street, Liverpool, was built in 1905 in Art Nouveau style. It is listed Grade II. Walker's Ales are long gone.
Words to live by? I can't decide whether to fix my aging car that is falling to pieces, at great cost, then renew the insurance at even greater cost, or scrap it altogether. I love the old beast but hardly every drive it anymore. I need wine.
The Tucson Inn, which opened in 1953, was shut down by the city in May, 2017, for building-code violations. The owners say they expect to re-open in the fall.
Maybe. It might be just as well if they don't.
Here's the first paragraph of one of the more charitable Yelp reviews...
"Do the world a favor: rent a bulldozer and drive it into the Tucson Inn. Bury the owners, squatters, broken cars, and semi-feral dogs under a pile of cinderblocks and ashes. But leave the sign--it's iconic and visiting photographers would have to take original pictures without it."
This one used to be on an exterior glass wall in the SMS mall in Tórshavn.
I honestly do not know what it means.
(The cross had a slightly different red in the original photo. I did not see that in the original sign, so I changed it in the photo. But the color difference could mean that the cross is a late addition to the sign.)
The sign was glued on a glass wall in a mall. So, ignoring the symbols, a very material meaning is "This is a glass wall. Please do not crash through."
Maybe it uses people of different color and gender to communicate that the sign is not about sex or race. If so, the message did not immediately reach me.
Another Trader Horn in Butler. This one is in an area called Nixon. Oddly enough, the other Butler Trader Horn was just a few miles from here. This was previousy a "Warehouse Sales" (predecessor to Trader Horn) store. This Trader Horn closed in May 2016

Neon sign for defunct furrier in Kansas City. Attached to an 1874 building that is in danger of collapsing if not rescued.
