Rather than the normal coat of arms the sign shows an old tar getting ready to paint a wooden warship.

The teacher part of me wants to say "AUGHH! Noooo......it's Y-O-U-apostophe-R-E"
And what's up with the quotation marks?!?
However, as someone who consciously chose to teach and advocate for new immigrant students in an urban school, I understand the struggles of learning English. And I come across the "your -you're" homonym confusion quite frequently in the written work of English Language Learners.......(actually, I've seen it in the work of native English speakers as well!)
My "wondering"........wasn't there anyone in the process of getting this sign up (someone at the signmaker's shop) who could have caught the errors before the sign was made?
Anyway, I made a quick 45-minute shopping trip to Clement Street (San Francisco's "second Chinatown") to hunt for a wok spatula because mine snapped last night. I initially thought this shop was a Chinese bargain store because it has very similar wares displayed out in front, but now I'm not so sure. The clerks were non-Chinese (I'm guessing Middle Eastern) and there were no Chinese price signs typical of Chinatown shops. I could be mistaken however.
The infamous Capital HIll City Market Signmaker Cain Morehead. I was stoked to finally know who makes these signs. The day i was scheduled to shoot was definitly a good one. Sorry for the shitty tear job. I gotta re-scan this later.
Encampment 24/hr/day & night for sure until Saturday October 15th. There is talk of finding a different site, one less toxic then a busy street corner. Personally I think that is a mistake, this site across Bank of America is perfect symbolically and visibility wise.

Whoever makes signs for Kane County cannot spell in English or Spanish. Address in Spanish is spelled dirección. Somehow the county managed to put an S into it. Same thing for locación (location). I also think the first line in Spanish should read "se ha movido;" the county forgot the H. They also didn't know how to say "west of Randall Rd" in Spanish either, choosing to say "west de la Randall Rd" instead of "al oeste de Randall Rd" or "al oeste del Camino Randall." I'm not saying my Spanish is perfect, but you'd think the signmaker would have taken the time to make sure everything was right.
By the way, this sign is only a block away from the one that says "Maintence Only."
