This shot of a beautiful mom-to-be was inspired by Annie Liebovitz. Fun fact: The dress is one I already owned, just worn upside down and pinned up.

Once you were there, but your trace is disapearing in the dark. Do I dare to follow...
About:
It has been snowing quite a bit in Oslo the past days, this lonely lamp with snowy footprints in the background made a funny motif :)
Photo
- Canon 40D
- Canon 17-55mm f/2.8
- RAW converted to DNG
- 1/8 sec at f/2.8 ISO100 17mm (35mm eq: 27mm)
Post Process
First I worked on the shadows, highlights, contrast, clarity, vibrance and saturation in the Photoshop Topaz plugin. Then I converted it to black & white and finally applied a little yellow tone in the shadows and a blue tone in the highlights :)
Thanks
Comments and critique are as always welcome.
In and out of Explore. Thanks a lot to all my Flickr friends :)

I must have been a nice child this year, Santa brought me this nice sky on Christmas eve :)
About:
Again I took a bike ride together with Ludo, my Alaskan Husky, to my favorite spot around Oslo in the cold season. The weather was mild, -1 degree Celsius (30 degree Fahrenheit) and NO wind :)
Photo:
- Canon 40D
- Sigma 10-20mm
- Tripod
- 5 RAW exposures converted to DNG (-6 -4 -2 0 +2)
- 1/1500, 1/350, 1/90, 1/20, 1/6 sec at f/11 ISO100 10mm (35mm eq: 16mm)
In the past I have always burnt out areas when I shot directly into the sun. This time I have therefore shot one extra exposure at -6 stop. Next time I think I even want to try a -8 stop exposure :)
Post Processing:
I turned the temperature up a little bit from 4400K to 7400K in the individual RAW images, giving the scene a warmer tone.
HDR & Tone Mapping done in Photomatix.
Noise reduction has been applied to get rid of the noise in the sky from the HDR process. A little cloning to fix some lens flares.
Thanks
Thanks to all my Flickr friends for a lot of funny hours. I has been a awesome experience to follow all those great photostreams of yours :))
A special thanksgoes to M@ Kadlick, who came up with the title :)

Just registered for Brickfair VA and so did Dylan. :D Can't wait for this year's BF because this time I'll actually get to hang out with some of my friends. This isn't really a "who's going" pic but hell if you cared enough to read the desc, comment below if you're going.
Also sorry for the inactivity lately, I haven't really felt the urge to post anything. I'm out of the slump though now, hopefully I'll have something up today. :) So as the website reminds me all the time, 5 months till Brickfair everybody.

Otso, thou my well beloved,
Honey-eater of the woodlands,
Let not anger swell thy bosom;
I have not the force to slay thee,
Willingly thy life thou givest
As a sacrifice to Northland.”
- The Kalevala - Rune XLVI “Otso the Honey-Eater”
Forged by David DelaGardelle, Otso’s Bite is a mythically-influenced, yet historically-rooted, early 8th century Merovingian/Vendel-period spatha. Inspired by the character of Otso the forest-spirit, as described in the epic Finnish poem, “the Kalevala”. The key historical foundation for this sword began with its pommel design, which was directly based off of an artifact found in Vesilahti Kirmukarmu, Finland, along with other Christian and Pagan artifacts. The strange and mysterious pommel depicts a snarling bear with wizard-like faces on all four joints. The pommel was beautifully carved in wax by bladesmith, Luke Shearer, and then skillfully cast in bronze by Emiliano Carrillo and Matthew Berry. The upper and lower guards were made from buffalo horn and antiqued bronze, and the grip was shaped out of a solid piece of rock maple with Vendel-era carvings. The pattern-welded blade was forged out of 800+ layers of 1075 and 15N20 steel. Made from Baltic poplar and lined with wool fleece, the scabbard reflects several Vendel-era findings. The entire scabbard is tightly wrapped with thin cowhide leather, and tooled with period-accurate ornamentation. The hand carved bronze fittings and the scabbard bridge depicts Otso and the face of Väinämöinen. The red garnet on the bear's back represents blood from a wound, either a wound of its own or from a greater King who, like Otso, freely gives his life for others.

In a previous EB thread, I proposed a collaborative Nostalgia Train Layout for this Summer's Brickworld Chicago: www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/146028-b...
There is a new EB thread is to determine participation so this is your chance to sign up: www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/forum/122-lego... We hope that this collaboration will attract many participants by recreating the nostalgic look and feel of the older train layouts featured in Lego catalogs and the train idea book. Unfortunately Brickworld won't permit us enough floorspace to do the large "L E G O" layout I first proposed. Therefor we are moving forward with the alternative shown here: a moderately sized "50" nostalgia layout to celebrate 50 Years of Lego Trains! Here is a description:
- The overall size is 16'x13'
- Only official Lego sets will be featured: track, trains, stations and other sets. We have limited space so priority will be given to train specific sets first, then to general town sets as needed. Upgrades and part substitutions are fine as long as the trains still look original (for example replacing 12v traction tires, re-gearing an Emerald Night, etc).
- This is a floor layout. The green and tan areas are created with colored roll paper taped to the floor. Tracks will be laid down over the colored paper.
- Scenery will consist of loose trees, vehicles and figures placed on the paper between the sets (just like in the catalog pictures :-) Open areas will remain so people can step around for access.
- Security will be addressed by having special stanchions up all show days (not just the weekend public days). These stanchions will feature a additional lower horizontal pipe to prevent young ones from entering the layout area. There should be about 30" between the stanchions and the outermost tracks.
