Frozen in time is this guardian of Norway
About:
Yesterday was a quite warm day, but with these magnificent clouds covering up the sky. No chance of a sunset shot :)) But this little lion made a good stand in :))
The lion is a part of the Herman Wedel-Jarlsberg (Norwegian) monument, in Dronningeberget (Norwegian) park in Oslo.
Magnus Barefoot (1093-1103) was the first Norwegian king to use an heraldic lion in his standard. So the lion has been a part of the Norwegian Coat of arms (English) for a long time :))

My baby and one of our dogs. My husband was like: "Aw, but she's not smiling." I nearly came unglued, lol. I said, "I have a toddler, a dog, and leaf, this is already a miracle!!!!"

Castle Crag from Manesty Wood, Lake District, Cumbria - 54°33'38" N 3°9'12" W
A shot of Castle Crag in the lake district framed by a couple of trees with a snowy back drop. Really enjoyed shooting this image during a really foggy Saturday back in December 2017

I've been thinking about the idea of being sheltered lately, and sometimes I feel like its more of a trap than a protection.
I'm still on the road creating amazing art with the most amazing people; I created this one in Ann Arbor! To sign up for workshops in Chicago, Vancouver, Hawaii, Portland, LA, Houston, Atlanta, Washington DC or NYC, please visit here: www.thewildonestour.com/signup/ !!
Here's some old and new things I want to say for selfish marketing purposes:
1. *UPDATE* I have another new notebook on sale now: Click here to see! This one is a large grid notebook with two images taken from the National Gallery of Art. 3 notebooks in total and more designs to come!
2. Subscribe to my Mailing List if you would like to get updates about random stuff.
3. If you've been a fan of my nonsensical view of the world and want to support me but tight on money, if you could leave a testimonial on my website that would help me so much. With enough eye witness reports, it just might give enough evidence for the State to finally put me in the psychiatric ward.
4. I'm also selling fridge magnets of ANY image from my flickr or instagram accounts. Just copy and paste the URL link of the photo you want magnetized at the checkout. If you want a random image, just type 'random'

It's easy to feel lost in the vast Norwegian nature.
About:
...but I'm only a few miles from the center of Oslo, so that lost feeling doesn't last long :))
This is another shot from the nature reserve on the island Malmøya just south of Oslo. In mid April it will be prohibited to access this area due to nesting birds :)) Maybe I'll come back in the spring with my 200mm lens and try out some bird shots :))

Luca would have raised the saturation in this shot. I think I already went pretty far on the contrast level: If I raise the saturation, I'm afraid it would tip the image over the edge and be over processed... (my wife feels that it is over processed already :)
Chee Seong thinks the foreground object is a bit too close to the frame, and that it probably would be better if this was shot further back.
The sky was this red for only a couple of minutes so I didn't have to much time to think this through :)) At 10mm (16mm eq. 35mm) foreground objects has to be fairly close to really get in the shot, but this is maybe a little too close...
What do you other Flickrities think?
Thanks
Thanks @ all you fine Flickrities for nice comments and faves, and a special thanks to all that participate in the discussion :))

Trump v. Jesus / the Bible
The Poor
To mock the poor is to show contempt for their Creator;
no one who laughs at their distress will go unpunished.
- Proverbs 17:5
Blessed are the poor. The Reign of God is yours!
Woe to the rich. Easy street’s about to end for you. – Jesus

I went to scout a location yesterday and on my way back to my car, I saw a man. Before I could think better of it, I called out to him.
"Sir, excuse me?"
He turned and regarded me warily.
"May I take your picture?"
He studied me for a minute.
"Why?"
"I like your hat", I replied.
"I figured it was the beard", he said.
"Well, frankly, you're the whole package for a photographer," I laughed, shrugging.
He said "One shot".
I took this one shot and he turned and walked away.
Thanks, Mister.

He rarely allows me to take photographs of him anymore, but I got a new backdrop and wanted to try it out, so he generously allowed me to put him in his dad's jacket and gave me 10 minutes of his time. He then asked for money. Teens, lol <3

This was without question, the most amazing sunset I've seen at Ruby Beach, this past weekend.
I was teaching a workshop and we decided to go to Ruby for sunset. After making sure my student was in good shape and shooting, I wanted to shoot inside the arch.
The tide was going up and I was getting soaked, camera included and I decided to move on to something else. This is how I came upon this amazing scene. Typically, one shoots looking to the other side of this stack, but the best light was happening in the "wrong" direction. The clouds were doing all kinds of crazy shapes and turning all kinds of colors and I quickly started shooting, before the light went away.
There's a few more goodies from this same sunset, and the following morning's sunrise shooting session.
Thanks for looking!
