The Bergfeld Center sign marks the former iconic shopping center in Tyler, Texas. This vintage sign from the 1950's was saved even though the shopping center was replaced by a CVS.
Is fireproof really anything to brag about? Apparently in the '40s - yes. From the estate of a Nashville graphic artist.
#2745 - 2015 Day 188: Seen on the side of a small camper van. A reminder that Life is not a rehearsal.
The last remnant from Comiskey Park is the sign nailed to a tree on the south side of W. 35th St. I remember it as a kid going to games during the 1950s.
An out of the way sign provides a subtle tribute to the opening of Disney's Animal Kingdom on April 22, 1998.
Welcome to a kingdom of animals... real, ancient and imagined: a kingdom ruled by lions, dinosaurs and dragons; a kingdom of balance, harmony and survival; a kingdom we enter to share in the wonder, gaze at the beauty, thrill at the drama, and learn. —Michael D. Eisner, April 22, 1998

Thanks for looking. I appreciate feedback!
I had to go to Macomb Mall a couple of weeks ago because that's where the warranty for my tires lives. When I got there, I saw that they were wrecking one of the mall's original anchor stores from when it opened in the 1960s, as part of the mall's renovation.
The great old neon sign persists, for now. When I walked past it, it sounded like lots of birds echoing off of metal.
Macomb Mall was originally developed in 1964.

These aisle signs sport the Tops logo yet they are still in place!
This store was opened in the early 1990s when smaller sized Pick -n- Pay supermarket stores were being consolidated into larger-sized Finast supermarkets. At least two Pick -n- Pay stores (I think actually three; including one in the same shopping center) were consolidated when this store opened as Finast. Royal ahold later merged their Finast and Tops divisions later in the 1990s; although both chains kept their own names Finast also started using the Tops hexagonal logo. Around 2000 Finast stores were finally rebranded as Tops Friendly Markets. Tops closed all of their Ohio stores in late 2006.
This store was reopened as a Apples Supermarket in early 2007. Apples kept almost all of the 1990s Finast and Tops decor intact when they reopened. The original interior still remains as of early 2015. This is a very rare example of the 1990s Finast / Tops interior since most stores that took over former locations remoded the interior look and Tops later remodeled most or all their stores in other states. A couple stores with some Tops decor still survive as Giant Eagle but Giant Eagle removed some decor in the Tops locations they took over.

Unsuitable for heavy traffic, Cross Lane, Bexley. At the other end on the road was a more modern sign in red with upper case plastic white letters.
I put this funny sign together this morning when I should have been doing other stuff.
