My favourite sign ever I think. Hard to tell in this shot, but those greenish marks are actually lichen. It's so old I have no idea what the original priorities were

Original dealer sign from the 1930s or 1940s. Porcelain with neon. 85 inches long, 36 inches tall. It's a two-sided sign, although the neon from the back has been removed. Labeled Walker & Co Detroit, by Acme-Wiley Corp.

Found in Las Vegas, Nevada. Hopefully they will be back somewhere else to fight again.

look away if you are offended by grade school swear words

And this Laughing Gull doesn`t seem so happy about the those signs :P

We all know what's important in our out of town over night stays. From an old motel on Chain of Rocks Road, Route 66, Granite City, Illinois.

Encountered the 'L'Eroica' Sign quite a few times today. This was the first sighting. Says something of an event when there are permanent road signs leading the way!

My Canyon would definitely be way to modern for taking part, naturally. :)

No specials on this day, judging by the empty yellow sign. (2045a)

Sent by my friend Ted Mader. Taken in Alameda, CA.

Saw this sign at an antique store to-day. I SO wanted to buy it, but it was priced pretty high and was too big to fit in my sweatshirt.

My particular favourite one was the "do not saw the seat in half". Where's the sign saying hammers are okay though?

Snapped in the excellent Fortean Times magazine (www.forteantimes.com)

Sitting outside the `Lona Tapas restaurant on Acland St, St Kilda these signs attracted me.

The Lona also did the best ribs we have ever had.

You can print the PDF's of these signs at my blog: teachfactory.com/?p=887

Thanks! :)

Taken as one of my sporadic contributions to The Weekly Colour Challenge group (because I forget to look what the theme is).

Here's a sign alongside the canal.
