I've been watching this renovation of plazas in Evanston all year--a fountain was removed--and this sign is fairly new. I like I got the worker in the photo too...

This year, the festival was postponed twice due to rain and rising water, but it was successfully held on September 9th.

This store has a reproduction of their original logo as one of their road signs. I thought that was pretty cool.
Although probably early Victorian (Barnet was the spelling once the trains arrived), the metal cast sign itself barely changed from this to 1964, and had it been pole or wall mounted ought to count as an official direction sign, as until the metal plates began the wording was always carved onto the stone directly.

"Blue" jazz club

I took a photo of this sign from the opposite side. The next day, when I was walking toward it from a different direction, I saw that I could capture a Portland banner in a photo of the "Blue" sign. It made a more interesting image and a better composition.
Sometimes it pays to look at things from a different point of view.
