Am 7. September 2014 war der ATB mit seinen historischen Bussen als Verstärkerbussen auf den Omnibuslinien „M45“ (zum „Tag der offenen Tür“ der Polizeidirektion 2) und „134“ (zum Flugplatzfest des Militärhistorischen Museums der Bundeswehr) als Autobuslinien „54 E“ bzw. „34 E“ geschildert unterwegs und hatte zusätzlich den Shuttleverkehr vom DTMB zur Depothalle des DTMB zu erbringen. Auf der letzten Linie war diesmal „Hugo“ des DVN im Einsatz.

The bus follows a route through Edmondson Park picking up passengers for the Edmondson Park station
as an alternative to driving because the car park is full by 8 AM. (The nearby streets are parked out too!)

The upper pane of the window drops open for taking photos. Although the shuttle bus driver is not required to provide narration, ours did. In a funny, deep, monotone voice he did a great job identifying landmarks and spotting wildlife along the way. He stopped the bus often for wildlife viewing, photo ops, and, of course, rest stops.

Take The Car
My train pulls up and is good to go until the driver says that he has been informed that it's out of service. Everyone gets off the train and proceeds to wait on the platform. Then an annoucement that you can get a shuttlebus upstairs or take the Danforth subway to St George then go south from there. The first rule of subway disruptions on the TTC is to not take the shuttlebus so I sat down and knit for a while.
The employees on the platform made themselves useful by telling people how to get where they were going. One person was refreshingly honest and said not to take the shuttlebus.
There was no constant announcement that the subway was out of service so people started waiting on the platform again and testy announcements were eventually made. He should have just told everyone to get the hell off the platform.
