Shot taken from the salt flats a short distance from the monastery. MS-Michel is located approximately 1 km from the coast of Normandy and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The connection between MS-Michel has changed over the centuries. Initially, it was connected to the mainland by a tidal causeway that was uncovered by the sea only at low tide. A raised causeway was built in 1879 and was replaced by a pedestrian and shuttlebus bridge completed in 2014.
In the 11th century, William de Volpiano, an Italian architect who built the Abbey of Fécamp in Normandy, was chosen to be the architect of the Romanesque church of the abbey. He daringly placed the transcept crossing at the top of the Mount. Many underground crypts and chapels had to be built to compensate for this weight; these formed the basis for the supportive upward structure that can be seen today.
Today, visitors to Mont Saint-Michel can park in a parking lot on the mainland and walk or take a shuttle over the connecting bridge to the village at the base. The paved main street of the town, which was founded in the Middle Ages, rises steadily until it meets the "Grand Staircase"– 350 steps that lead to the abbey.

As mentioned in the previous upload, BX04 MXM, 6014 was new to Arriva London as MA14 but due to their undesirable nature, MA14 and other ‘bendies’ are slowly being disbanded across the country to various operators. Arriva Merseyside’s Speke depot have purchased a couple to replace the Wright Commanders that used to operate the 501 Liverpool South Parkway – Liverpool John Lennon Airport shuttle bus. The longer 18M length vehicle allowing more room for passengers and luggage.
On loan to Arriva Yorkshire West when pictured here, is this Wright Eclipse Urban 2 bodied Volvo B7RLE demonstrator. It is seen here taking a break from Dewsbury Bus Museum shuttle bus duties which it performed during their recent open day.

Powell Point is another narrow spur along the West Rim Drive, on which is built a granite memorial to John Wesley Powell, erected to commemorate his two groundbreaking explorations of the Colorado River in 1869 and 1872. The point is only a 10 minute walk through the pine woods from Maricopa, past Orphan Mine, so many people hike rather than wait for the next shuttlebus. The vista is similar to that from Maricopa except that more of the canyon to the west is visible, though some is still obscured by the next ridge (Hopi Point). The river is not in view since it flows deep within its inner granite gorge.

Broadstone based VDL's 'LD206' & 'LD231' load for Dublin on the Slane shuttle service. To bus enthusiasts this was indeed perhaps a rather special and unique occasion?
Both Bus Eireann & Dublin Bus were formed out of the old 'Coras Iompair Eireann' back in 1987. Each company had its own mandate, its area clearly defined, neither company duplicated any route.
Therefore it is ultra rare to see them work alongside each other on the same service, other than the 'Special Olympics' in 2003 which was a much different kind of operation entirely, I cannot recall a single occasion in 26 years when they operated together?
Both events in Waterford surrounding the tall ships saw both company vehicles operate side by side. It also happened in 2003 during the 'Special Olympics', but on those occasions all services were provided by Bus Eireann, with extra capacity provided by Dublin Bus, but on hire to Bus Eireann. Slane 2013 was a totally different set up entirely to those events. Bus Eireann buses are not unknown at Slane concerts either, though thin on the ground in recent years, they did operate to both Drogheda and Navan, but never before to Dublin, alongside Dublin Bus!
