To get this photo, I turned the shutter speed down low to create motion blur while my cat was moving.

Shutter Speed grading test 1

In the first trip to Vulcan Park in Birmingham, Alabama, I realized that I had not fixed the auto/manual pin in the lens, so shooting in the harsh midday sun wide open was not really fair for the lens with shutter speeds at 1/4000 in some of the pics. Here I try again mostly at f8 later in the day around 5:00 pm. Very pleased with this cheap little m42 manual lens paired with the Canon EOS M. All of these were taken handheld and shot primarily as test not for perfection. Feel free to comment.

Taken in a "dark" bedroom, playing with my wireless remote, camera set to a manual shutter, and an external flash that I was hand-carrying when moving the scratching post around (hence the red & green trails). Probably about half a minute total exposure, with 3 firings of an SB-600 on 1/64 power. Plenty of time for a lot of light to leak through the "dark" curtains. Incidentally, the comforter on the bed is a dark blue, which isn't very obvious at all.

I'm pretty pleased with this first effort. In the future I'll probably actually use a tripod or something instead of putting the camera on my humidor...
