"There is a voice
Shouting in my head
And there is a voice
That is singing there instead
And there is a choice
To which one will I listen
For one the road is long and hard
The other yeah, the road will glisten. . . . "

Or to paraphrase Mr. Miyagi's wise advice to his young pupil: "All about balance, Daniel-san ! "

Well, this mature bald eagle isn't shouting anything at the mountains. No, it's being attacked by gulls, one in particular who didn't like this eagle roosting nearby to a gull hatchery. So this gull would do a regular flyby every couple minutes and had the eagle reacting as it did in this image. The eagle would rear up and cry at the gull and motion with its wings. Besides that, it was raining and the matted feathers tell that story. It was late in the day and evening was approaching, with the darkness exacerbated by a cloudy sky as it was July and the sun doesn't go down until rather late at that time of year.
Also, this was taken at the end of the spit at Homer, and that could well be China Poot (mountain) in the background.
Taken 15 July 2022 at Homer, Alaska.
Shouting al the way and I have several photo s with a moving beak. But it did not fly away and that s a number one with these pictures. Jpg straight out of the camera.
From down the hall nurse Mugsy smelled smoke.Where there's smoke there's fire she thought to herself and where there was fire there was usually Bob. Mugsy had no time to drop off the two babies from the nursery she had in tow so she brought them with her. Smoke was pouring from Bob's room. As the fire alarm sounded Mugsy entered Bob's room. Mindlessly she handed off the two babies to Bob and tried to extinguish the burning pile off losing keno tickets Bob had set on fire with his magnifying glass and the power of the fluorescent light that hung in his room. Bob thought to himself babies, I remember having babies once. That was before they went "missing" down the mineshaft or did they just walk away? Bob couldn't remember now. In any case there he sat with a baby in each hand. "Seven pounds, fourteen ounces," Bob yelled while raising the baby in his left hand up and down. "Eight pounds, seven ounces," Bob yelled even louder with a chuckle added in for effect as he raised the baby in his right hand up and down. Bob was a good guesser of weights from his days when he worked as a carny geek with the circus. "What else did I use to do?" Bob thought even harder. "JUGGLE," Bob hollered as he tossed the baby in his left hand into the air. "JUGGLE," he screamed with delight as he threw the baby in his right hand intro the air. Nurse Mugsy wheeled around and was able to catch both of them in mid air just as their heads were about to smash together. Bob sat there and laughed and laughed, then Bob laughed some more. Nurse Mugsy grabbed the magnifying glass from his pocket, shouting "that's just about enough from you Mister."
Shouting and yelling really never progresses anything… ever.

Captured at a climate action 'School Strike' in Glasgow in May 2019.
Imagine living in a world were the masses celebrate the arrest of 'Just Stop Oil' activists for causing mild inconvenience while completely ignoring the evidence that fossil fuel driven climate chaos is already here and worsening year on year.
Stop shouting at the messengers and start shouting at the politicians, leaders, corporations and billionaires that are fleecing us all dry while passing off the lies that the situation is normal.
Constant economic growth and population expansion on a world with finite resources that we are already exceeding many times over is obviously unsustainable.
Climate experts and scientists are screaming at media to tell the truth and are being repelled in favour of the 'fluffy good news' that people 'want to hear'. Did you watch the movie Don't Look Up? We are right there now.
Hundreds of wildfires burning across Canada making the air in New York City hazardous to breathe.
North Atlantic Ocean surface temperatures at their highest ever recorded level.
Heat records broken in multiple countries already this year and yesterday a recorded 40C in Siberia!
Arctic Sea ice is expected to vanish completely in summers within this decade and blue ocean absorbs more heat.
El Nino has not even kicked in yet, when it does expect some serious climate chaos.
Deadly climate chaos is now unavoidable.
We will exceed the target of 1.5C above pre-industrial levels very soon and some scientists are certain that a rise of up to 3C is already baked-in. To be clear, at a rise of 4C you will be looking at the extinction of humanity.
This year, despite our knowledge and vague commitments to do something about it, global temperature average continues to rise, atmospheric CO2 levels are at the highest level since records began and methane levels are up there too.
Doing 'our bit' individually is just a drop in the ocean without the action of leaders and corporations. We must demand better.
Unavoidable man-made climate chaos will lead to millions of deaths, millions of climate refugees, flood, famine, crop failures and wars over resources - all within the next two or three decades at most. We have to live with that. We still have a chance to stop complete climate catastrophe beyond that but only if we act immediately.
We are beginning to trigger irreversible tipping points for feedback loops that will drive this whole catastrophe even faster. It is insanity to bury our heads in the sand and carry on as normal.
If we want a liveable world for ourselves, our children and our grandchildren then we need to be taking action now.
We must stop burning fossil fuels, stop consuming at an unsustainable rate and start screaming at our politicians, leaders and businesses to demand immediate change.
I, however, have little hope that humanity can make the change fast enough. We can't even take an infectious disease seriously despite it being the 3rd leading cause of death and leaves 1 in 10 infections requiring long term medical care.
If you read all of this I thank you, from the heart, as I only say all of this because I care. I do what I can myself and there is always more that I can do, but it will never be enough until we all demand action from those at the top. We must start screaming long before we start dying.
Take care everyone.

“We're all islands shouting lies to each other across seas of misunderstanding.” Rudyard Kipling’s faint voice from 1891 has seemed more relevant than ever to me over the past few months. Winter is here; so in the crisp -25 deg C (-13 F) air I headed out for a stroll onto Ness lake at around 2am last night under the light of the setting moon as if to check that I was still alive. In the distance the mesmerizing glow of the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis some thousands of km away in the Yukon, and the eerie sounds from the ice stress fracturing, quickly cleared my mind of other thoughts. The frozen lake, free of snow, has developed frost flowers over the past few days which create an amazing texture. The flowers grow from the moisture in the supersaturated vapor found directly above the ice that is caused by the sublimation of ice into the extremely dry, cold air. Or....how I discovered that one item I'm wearing was for a different body x__x
I wore this during opening time at Engine Room and judging by the response of folks IMing or camming me, I guess it certainly succeeded in catching your eye. The Ancient wings by Aii are really *chef's kiss* as you can remove the feathers (or leave them) for a large variety of different looks. There's even little gems and chains. The Maw head by Cryptid is certainly...toothy and teaming it with a hood or hat seems to work very nicely with it. The crow on my hand by Apika is animated and resizable and has Spanish/English versions.

‘Rock singer!’. shouting it out...a Turnstone caught in full voice on the rocks, Northumberland.
Many thanks for visiting my Flickr pages ...Your visits, interest, comments and kindness to 'fave' my photos is very much appreciated, Steve.
The Turnstone can be spotted fluttering around large stones on rocky and gravelly shores, flipping them over to look for prey. It can even lift rocks as big as its own body! Although a migrant to the UK, it can be seen all year-round as different populations arrive throughout the seasons. Notes Kent Wildlife Trust.
Notes:
How do Turnstones feed?
Turnstones are waders, wading in shallow waters. They gained the name Turnstone from their habit of turning over stones and seaweed in their search for invertebrates.
Are Turnstones social?
Turnstones do tend to be social, forming colonies ranging from tens of individuals to thousands, and they will mix with other kinds of sea birds. However they become aggressive in chasing off the other breeds when food is at stake
.How fast do Turnstones fly?
Turnstones can fly up to 65 km per hour.
#5517 - 2023 Day 38/365: We have a regular visitor to the back windows, a blackbird who has become accustomed to our feeding him mealworms. Is he shouting for lunch?
When red-winged blackbirds sing, they are not singing for the poets, or for the children, or for the joy of spring. They are shouting threats at their neighbors and interlopers.
Male red-winged blackbirds arrive a the marsh first in spring, and through song and simultaneous display of the bicolored epaulets plus physical confrontation when needed, males define and defend breeding territories. Females arrive shortly thereafter, and choose a mate perhaps on the basis of his display, but mostly because she is attracted to the feeding opportunities in his territory. A male may have one female in his territory, or several, or up to 15. Now he must work to keep other males from coming into his territory to mate with his females.
The idea of "shouting threats" is taken directly from one of George Williams books. He was a famous evolutionary biologist, and a good friend.
Well, I didn't scream underneath this small underpass but I have heard young kids screaming and shouting and it does echo in there and especially when the trains cross over above!!

Shouting HANA!
She is sometimes screaming inside the house like this, maybe when she felt frustration at her school. This shot had taken one year ago, with a nice cloths and a beautiful tulip... but screaming... So, this is her!

Jose: "Did I tell you that my wife found out she was adopted?"
Me: "No, I don't think so."
Jose: "She was devastated and kept asking Why didn't they want me? I held her and comforted her, after awhile, and still crying, she asked me to make love to her, which led to more tears. On reflection, banging her from behind and shouting WHO'S YOUR DADDY?! was a little insensitive."

Bali, 2012 (no photoshop...).
Once a year (but be warned: according to the Balinese calendar!) young people meets and - after a very joyous body-painting - they walk through dozens of villages - where all the people is expecting them.
Why?
They parade - singing, shouting, playing. Addressing to the whole Universe: "This is our land! Evil Spirits away from here!"
Through rice fields, forests and rivers. For hours and miles. They stop every once in a temple and pray: "This is our land! Evil Spirits away from here!"
You would say: "folklore" - "primitivism."
But better to know that in Bali, the first day of the year (again according to the Balinese calendar!) three indications are strictly complied with:
- no fire
- no walking
- no working
plus one:
- Silence.
And, for 24 hours, the streets are deserted, no flights in or out!, all the families at home or at the temple.
Why? There's an explanation: this is the day when the evil spirits are coming flying over the island. They see it deserted ... and they go where humans - taken from their activism - are not realizing what is happening, and let Bad Spirits enter in their villages, in their houses, in their hearts.
An example of a very powerful Bad Spirit? Greed!!!
Can you imagine something like in your country? Can you imagine the power of 24 hours of silence...
24 hours with no TV, no Internet, no cars, no work, no planes, no politicians, no advertising, no newspapers, no thieves (in every village, for some urgencies you are authorized to move, of course, but a self-organized village guards pay attention to movements from special places called Bale – a rotten-built small house you can see in every village).
Look at their faces, look at the beauty of being aware of the personal and collective responsibility to be free!
To guarantee a balance between taking and giving - with the environment and among men - is the key of the Balinese spirituality in every day life.
That's why they smile and look at you in the eyes every time they meet another human being!
And that's may be a good moment to remember a very interesting Balinese custom: every new born will not touch the earth until the sixth month of his life. Because every new born is divine, sacre and every one around him, or her, has to remember this sacredness ! Baby cots hang in the Balinese houses and all family members are in charge to bring their babies, making them every day more and more participating to the community life. Until the big celebration at the sixth month anniversary. All the inhabitants of the village are invited, they all are dressed at their best, food and joy: the baby passes on the knees of each invited and finally the Hindu priest sit it on the ground: the baby is a human, one of us!
