My first attempts at tilt shift photos, using these that I snapped while stationed in port in Togo.

OK, This isn't the greatest photo but you get the idea. People have been asking how I do this. You can check out this post on how I did it. It is much easier than you think and much cheaper than a new Tilt Shift Lens.
As part of the Power Shift 2011 Conference, thousands joined the polluter protest at the White House, the U.S Chamber of Commerce, and at the headquarters of dirty energy industries.
Over 5,000 young climate leaders joined AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, Cherri Foytlin of Gulf Change, and 350.org co-founder Bill McKibben at a polluter protest in front of the White House this Monday. They demanded that the President and Congress stand up to Big Polluters, protect the Clean Air Act, and make corporate polluters like BP pay for their pollution.

This photograph shows an elderly woman during the night shift in her small kiosk in Tulodong, Jakarta. I walk past this little shop virtually every day, and she greets me with a warm smile.

Bluring on purpose for Our Daily Challenge. This is an “art filter’ built into my Olympus E-PL1 camera. I know it blurs the shot so, I thought I’d give it a go - on purpose. It works better from a greater height and more of a cityscape, but is suposed to mimic a tilt-shift lens and give the impression of a toy landscape. Fun to try, would be better in the City, but thanks for the daily challenge for reminding me I had the filter.

Just messing around with photoshopping the tilt-shift lens effect. This was shot on vacation 2 years ago while waiting to switch planes on the way to Minnesota. Taken on a point n' shoot!
