Fitted an eBay short shifter for my Seat Leon 1.8T 6 speed gearbox. The short shifter reduces the horizontal throw with approximately 40%.

It takes some getting used to, but is a worthwile investment. Lovin it!

Shift change at the now closed London Brick Stewartby works on Feb 29 1984 sees Ementons former Trent ANU11B depart for Bedford with production line staff, closely followed by another company vehicle that I would say to be NCY 296F a former South Wales Reliance. Ementons had most contracts from the site for many years with United Counties having a few and Shoreys one. Before this LBC had worked the buses in house. Final closure of the works was on 29 Feb 2008, 24 years to the day after this shot

A 3/4" tall spacer tube was welded into the tower to raise the pivot ball. This corresponds with the 3/4" extension on bottom of the shifter itself, so the lower linkage joint remains in line with the shift linkage output shaft on the transmission.

REAL tilt shift.

So this guy (www.owenphoto.com) came to watch us do our bike shoot. He's a profesh photog. and we got to ask him questions and stuff. So I was like, "What kind of camera and lenses do you have?" So he showed me his 5D and a few of his lenses. Then he was like, "..and THIS one is a special lens that will give you a cool effect of blur... blah blah..." i can't remember what he said. Then i was like, "Tilt shift?!?" and he was like, "YAH!" and i was like "omgzz. can i try it?" and he was like, "Yeahh dude!" -- not really. but yeah.

Going over the day's photos. The Zippo Handwarmer worked great in below zero temperatures.

Just got a Tamron 90mm macro. So I decided to test it out on an old Royal 10 typewriter. Made between the years 1914-1933

The ice expands. Cracks appear. This is growth.

I reach up from the depths to feel for something, anything.

And there it is.

Gilroy (as he’s affectionately known as around the office), our resident IT guy has come up with a tutorial for using simple shift registers to expand the number of inputs available to an Arduino/Freeduino using only three I/O lines. Tutorial should be up in the next week.

For those of you wondering about the testbed and why it’s got two Freeduinos, it’s normally used as an I2C testbed for another project Gilroy’s working on.
