Yesterday I shot the cover photo for Ty Segall and Mikal Cronin's new album titled "Reverse Shark Attack".
It is already one of my favorite albums of all time. I love it to death.
This was just a silly shot we did at the end of the shoot for fun - I will be sure to post the final version when Ty and Mikal decide on one.

It seems like a lot people are let down by the phony documentaries that Discovery has decided to run with during Shark Week, so here's a shot of a real-life male great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias) off the coast of Mexico's Isla de Guadalupe.
Unlike the 40' "Submarine" shark and the extinct C. Megalodon, this guy is the real deal.

White sharks are loners so it is fascinating to watch when two or more show up on the scene. They circle each other then swim along parallel to each. This allows them to size each other up. The bigger Shark gets right of way. It is behaviour similar to what you might see in a dog park. Jaws Movie Poster - UPDATED
I tweaked the top of the 'W' and replaced the two red 2x2 tiles with two red 1x3 tiles, to smooth out the top of the 'W'. After some feedback about the nose, I made Bruce the Shark one brick deeper, this meant that the nose now no longer juts out over his top lip.
I was surprised to see this brave/stupid seal arrive until I watched it easily out manoeuvre the white sharks. It seemed to take pleasure in taunting them. This young white shark was definitely interested. Story behind the images here bit.ly/davey05 #Sharkweek # sharks #whiteshark
