We could use more Buddhas in Manhattan! This lovely statue was just inside the window of the West-Midtown haven from modern life that I discovered--and fell in love with--last month. But sometimes reflection shots are complicated to make; this one was. It was a sunny day and the building across the street created a bright reflection on the surface of the window.

I had to create an anti-reflection (a shadow, really) with my head to "catch" the Buddha's face. Otherwise, it would have only been a mix of a mostly white reflective "blanket" and warm golden "see-through", i.e., what is inside, beyond the window's surface. I enjoy playing around with various positions, angles and options in this type of situation...it's more like composing than snapping a shot.
