La Corse - FRANCE

Shadows of the trees and sculptures honoring the Irish famine cast on the grain silos. The Statues were creepy enough at night, but this put it over the top. Came here after finding geocache Landing In Norway.

There was movement downstairs, I didn't know what to do, so I thought i'd better take a look, and when I did, I saw "THE SHADOW".

In the grounds of the Melbourne University September 8, 2013 Australia. We spent the day walking around the city with a friend from Flickr and it was most enjoyable. For sure we would have never seen so much except for our wonderful guild.

Melbourne is the capital and most populous city in the state of Victoria, and the second most populous city in Australia.

Melbourne is the common name for the urban agglomeration area and Census statistical division of the greater metropolis. The city developed around the large natural bay of Port Phillip with its metropolitan hub, the Melbourne City Centre, located at the northernmost point of the bay - near the estuary of the Yarra River. The metropolitan area extends south from the City Centre, along the eastern and western shorelines of Port Phillip, and expands into the hinterland. The City Centre is situated in the municipality known as the City of Melbourne, and the metropolitan area consists of a further 30 municipalities. The metropolis has a population of 4.25 million, growing the fastest in numerical terms and fifth fastest in percentage terms since the previous year. Inhabitants of Melbourne are called Melburnians.

Melbourne was founded in 1835 (47 years after the European settlement of Australia), in what was then the Colony of New South Wales, by settlers from Launceston in Van Diemen's Land. It was named by Governor of New South Wales Sir Richard Bourke in 1837, in honour of the British Prime Minister of the day, William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne. Melbourne was officially declared a city by Queen Victoria in 1847. In 1851, it became the capital city of the newly created Colony of Victoria. During the Victorian gold rush of the 1850s, it was transformed into one of the world's largest and wealthiest cities.

"In The Shadow, In The Light

I promise you, for all my life

I’ll be Always by your side

In the shadow, in the light.

I’ll follow you, wherever life goes

But I’ll always be aside

In the shadow, in the light.

But if we don’t understand…

Hell is happy, heaven is sad

And that’s the result of our brain…

Insane…

Caravan of life

By day and by night

Every tile’s a part of life

If it’s a shadow or light.

I promise you, even when the tide is high

I’ll be always by your side

In the shadow, in the light"

Word of the day is 'Shadow'

In the shadows

I've been watching

I've been waiting

In the shadows for my time

I've been searching

I've been living

For tomorrows all my life

In the shadows

In the shadows

I was playing around with my shadow this morning after shooting the sunrise over the Painted Hills. My shadow said I could put him in the picture if I don't show his face ; )

Our friend, Shadow.

Last night we had a look at some VERY old slides, which was a lot of fun (and nostalgia). Afterwards our son created a little shadow theatre with his toy animals - which was even more fun! ;-)

My new knee managed to make it up the hill to this favorite small waterfall.

Joyce, this is not with my wide angle lens either. Just 22mm on my regular zoom.

This one really benefits from the largest view.

I love to do this shadow boxes!!

It was for a second...I saw the shadow on the road and pressed the shutter release button!

Original frame, no crop :)

I added some fill light (ok not some...near %100), some contrast (near %100) and some recover (near %100) :))) but, as it was an uncompressed RAW file of 15 mb...it handled all of my extreme processes successfully...and here is the result :)

Shadow of The Devil ;)

This shadow reminded me of those cave paintings or Egyptian caricatures I see on tv. It's my tree actually

These fraudsters made you think they were giant redwoods, but really they're only medium redwoods with a shadow.
