Who lurks in the treetops munching on stolen treasures, nuts and pinecones? Who? The Shadow Knows.
During a resent visit to Dauset Trails Nature Center, the temperature climbed while photographing all the "things with wings" at the Children's Garden, so we decided to take a break and relax on one of the nearby shaded benches.
While sitting there, I suddenly heard a noise up in one of the trees. It was this squirrel, climbing up to this spot to pause and secretly munch away on some tasty treat he'd just found.
I took a shot even though the lighting was not the best, but I kinda like the way it turned out. This isn't a B&W, but it sure looks like one.

the light of the late afternoon stretches long across the stones, as two shadows meet and hold hands on the steps. the cool blue of the railing above contrasts with the warm browns of the aged stone wall below, creating a moment suspended between day and dusk, movement and stillness. the textures and colors tell a quiet story of connection in an urban landscape, where light finds a way to animate the simplest of moments.
Another effort in color, which might be a bit better trying to capture color changes with the start of the golden hour. Focus with the slow speed Portra makes the background a bit soft, but I wanted the brick lines and crossing shadow to be in focus. I really like Porta 160 so much better than the 400 version because of the grain structure and the color palatte of the former, but there's no free lunch.
It's been quite a strange month november, also for Lilli. She's so sensitive and tends to suffer when we're all stressed and worried. But her ability to go ahead always surprises me.
A mysterious round gelatinous blob showed up on the back deck. I liked the way it played with the light.
