the light of the late afternoon stretches long across the stones, as two shadows meet and hold hands on the steps. the cool blue of the railing above contrasts with the warm browns of the aged stone wall below, creating a moment suspended between day and dusk, movement and stillness. the textures and colors tell a quiet story of connection in an urban landscape, where light finds a way to animate the simplest of moments.

Still not fit for fight but had to fill up the refrigerator with some food. Luckily the store sign had painted some shadow graffiti with the bicycle stand…Snap!

Next to landscape photography, I think creative portraiture is my favourite genre. In this workshop we were given a model, and we were free to set up the location, lighting, create the story through your image etc. in 10 minutes or less. It was a bit of a challenge to think that fast, but such a valuable lesson to go through. It definitely helped me understand the use of light and shadows in portraiture better.
