My technique is alway the same:
Three exposures -2EV, 0, +2EV and then temperature adjustement using Lightroom and layering with luminosity mask using photoshop. Removal of distracting stuff with the stamp tool or patch tool. High pass filter to enhance details. Then saturation, contrast selectively control, dodge and burn where need...
DRI stand for Dynamic Range Increase. Three RAW files are used to achieve this. Rather than using a software like Photomatix for instance, I simply use mask to blend, my own way, the light, dark and normal shot with Photoshop and Lightroom.. To me, It looks more natural than the usual HDR treatment that I would normally applied.

Dodge and burn là où requis...

On the last twilight of Summer, we we found ourselves on a bayside beach just in time for this amazing, evolving display of yellows, reds and purples.

You wouldn't think it takes such a long time to get used to positive thoughts.
Not to wake up and realise I have once again tried to hold onto feelings that could have been.
But remembering falling asleep thinking of you, and not having to let go of the stories I used to make up.
For this time, they are still true in the morning.
Every day has a different feeling — the last day of four months felt like you.
(I wrote this at the beginning of July, it's been seven months now)
Taken at the top of the Torre Latino building in Mexico City/Distrito Federal on my last day in Mexico. I hope to return soon.

Currituck NC ......which is the same (as far as I can tell) as Corolla NC. This is a lovely Park there and it's the perfect spot for capturing the Sun setting. Even if it is cloudy. You may not be able to see him but there is a gray Heron out in the water by the Bog (wet lands) actually there was a white Heron too but I don't think you can find him in this one. There were also a whole lot of birds flying in the air.....looked like a type of gull. Very relaxing place.....a couple of weddings were just finishing.
A view across the hills to the west of Puero Rico just before sunset. The setting sun bathing the hillsides with golden light.
setting sun and pylon.
Shot with the theme of manmade power (the pylon) and natural power of the sun in mind.

When I was working this spot was a frequent place where I escaped the hustle and bustle of work by driving here to eat my lunch. I often only had 20 minutes of peace here but it kept me sane.
It's a lot different now though (2021) as in around 2018 the large rocks were added to the foreshore and the area was fenced off meaning it's no longer possible to park a car right on the foreshore waterfront.
I do however think the changes have improved the site immeasurably.
This is a wider angle view of the Oceanana Fishing Pier. The wind was blowing so hard that it made two foot high sand drifts on the boardwalk and this sea foam on the beach. A tripod was useless in the wind; I had to hand-hold all my shots. You can see some of damage to the pier caused by Hurricane Irene. The end of the pier is gone as well as some of the supporting cross pieces.
a good start in the new week °°°

Taken from the hill just east of Elmdale. Zoomed in toward the horizon and the setting sun. You may notice the truck on the left - it's traveling on US-50.
