HAPPY WINDOW WEDNESDAY(S)
A cellar window in a old French Army barracks, Caserne Lefebvre*
The building has been beautifully restored externally. Internally, it is now divided up into residential apartments. Photo taken in strong, slanting winter mid-day light.
NB - For ESLs "set in stone" is an idiom used to indicate that something--especially a law or a rule--is permanent.

Working service 621 from High Wycombe bus station (primarily a school route) is this 1988 Alexander bodied Volvo B10M (F101TML) that looks as though its seen better days but still sounds and runs healthily. Formally served with Boroline and Arriva London. It has now been withdrawn and is awaiting scrap.

Seen dumped at the rear of the Stroud depot along with many other late 90s vehicles is this Volvo Olympian that is now apart of the Stagecoach reserve fleet, unknown whether it is still in any use.
The wake of the ship彡
Several minutes after the departure, our ship ported the helm. Then this pattern was seen on the water.

Nicholas Di Genova
Death From Below: The Upper Layers of the Hades Geofront
Fredericks Freiser Gallery 536 W 24th street
September 9 through October 14
Opening reception September 14, 6 to 8pm
come out, meet the dude....
from the press release:
Fredericks & Freiser is proud to announce a solo exhibition of
paintings on Mylar by Canadian artist Nicholas Di Genova. The artist's
fine-lined Darwinian allegories graphically illustrate a mythological
underworld. If the sleep of reason does in fact breed monsters (and
granted that reason may be on the fritz lately) then few since Goya
have attempted to tease these monsters out into the light of day with
such deadpan clarity. Luckily, Di Genova has been living in a world
whose walls continuously bleed messages from its own unconscious in
the form of graffiti. Seceding from the academy of recycled
aesthetics, Di Genova has the imagination and pure linear finesse to
explore every sense of the word graphic: "GRAPHIC" being, for eyes,
what "LOUD" is for ears.

Amtrak Empire Builder backing onto the track it will load from, about 30 minutes prior to departure. Above it is Randolph St. Also above it, is the corporate headquarters for Boeing.
As I always say: "Nothing fancy going on here."
The most challenging aspect for me is getting the composition right: it has to
look natural, even if it's a glamor shot.
So with just 3 vehicles and some sifted dirt on a painted styrene base, how
does one go about making it look real?
I think about how people drive and park cars. What is enough distance between vehicles in order to open a door and get out? If people are meeting in a field, does everyone just park side by side or is there a randomness to it? Even if this is just a miniature set, I feel there are certain natural laws that
must be taken into account.
I apologize for blathering on here, but I wanted to give some insight into the process.
Here's the finished shot:
