Greater access to 3D printing(www.cadcam.org/why-use-a-solidworks-3d-printing-service/ ) as well as its added benefits is convincing the next generation of product designers and engineers, in industries ranging from aerospace to education, to pursue additive manufacturing as a career. As this new group begins to make its way into the workforce, manufacturers and managers are revisiting more than just training initiatives, but their entire approach to applying 3D printing in the product development process. Additionally, it can provide accurate representations of 3D models and 2D drawings in a fast, reliable, and convenient way.
Service staff recently joined folks from The Nature Conservancy at a western North Carolina bog to help keep tabs on the rare green pitcher plant. In order to help provide the pitcher plants with the ample sunlight they need, the site is periodically subjected to a prescribed burn and nascent shade trees cleared by hand where necessary.
To evaluate the effectiveness of their management, every two years The Nature Conservancy monitors the rare green pitcher plant that grows on the site.

A National Ambulance Service Dispute badge issued to help raise funds for ambulance servicemen while out of work and unpaid, as well as displaying public solidarity with their cause.
The background for the 1989/1990 ambulance service dispute goes back to 1985 when a deal was made with the unions for parity of pay and conditions between the police, fire-fighters and ambulance services. Subsequent deals between unions and government broke this parity and by 1989 both pay and conditions between ambulance workers and the other services had fallen behind substantially.
The National Ambulance Service Dispute lasted from the 7th September 1989 to the 23rd February 1990. However, throughout this period, they retained overwhelming public support despite dirty-tricks by the government to sway public opinion against the trade dispute. Although suspended from their work, ambulance personnel continued to provide emergency cover where possible.
Initially, the St. John Ambulance, the Red Cross and Metropolitan Police were called upon to provide accident and emergency ambulance cover. By early November, the government had called out additional accident and emergency ambulance cover from the Defence Forces, mainly the army. The dispute ended when all sides agreed to new rates of pay and condition.
An important outcome for ambulance personnel was the provision of adequate funds to provide additional training to up-skill ambulance personnel into skilled paramedics. The unions that represented ambulance workers during the dispute were NUPE, COHSE, NALGO, GMB and the T&GWU.
More information on the dispute can be found here:

This is a Texaco Service Station Directory presented in its original order. A useful reference for knowing where your nearest Texaco outlet was. Every Texaco outlet in the country was listed with its address but no date is given. I'm pretty certain it dates from the 1990s and probably quite early in that decade. I hope it might prove a useful reference for locations of sites, many of which still exist and many now under a different brand. When I have time I'll go through them one by one and see if I have any photos of them and then maybe indicate if they still exist or not but this will be a massive task!

The Paediatric Retrieval Service is now transferring seriously ill
children up to 16 years of age to Our Lady's Children's Hospital in
Crumlin, and to the Children's University Hospital, Temple Street, from
hospitals anywhere in Ireland. The Paediatric Retrieval Service has
dedicated resources at the National Ambulance Service base at Cherry
Orchard in Dublin. It's available to Inpatient and Emergency Department
patients who need to be transferred because their condition is serious
or deteriorating. This can include treatment for paediatric intensive
care, burns, or neurology.
It builds on a hugely successful service for newly born babies, the
Neonatal Retrieval Service, which has already transferred nearly 550
seriously ill new-born babies from across Ireland to centres with
critical care facilities in its first year of 24/7 operation.
