I got another free server! This one is a P4 2.4 GHz, a big step up from my 700MHz Celeron. :D
I'm keeping its old hostname: Serenity.
I don't really know what to call this... It's a silver set that my Mom has. It's a tray, a small lidded platter, a bowl (for sugar, I'm assuming), a small pitcher (for cream, I think) and a large pitcher (for tea or coffee ?)
I took a photo of it in the negative because I just really liked how what normally seems so shiny and bright, when seen through the negative form, looks a little gross actually. =) The shiny spots now appear as black spots... which, to me, kind of remind me of some kind of rot or decay or something. Anyway, I just thought it was kind of interesting, so I'm sharing it. =)

This was in august last year (so naturally there are more now). Until earlier this year we just had two 110v 30amp power feeds for these servers; the newer rack (not pictured) has a 30amp 208v feed; but even that is easily used before we fill the rack with servers...

These are our new servers at work. Two beasties with masses of RAM and processor power :-) They are replacing some old "state of the ark" bits of kit that are ancient!

the modules i just got are identical to two i already had... so that's 6x1GB now.
somehow i thought this package was already lost in the mail... especially since i saw how the Xeons arrived in the mail a few days back (not insured or such)...
But... it seems my package with the true value written on the outside got held up at the border and i had to pay taxes on it...
Well... that's better than getting lost in total, right?
So, I think this was the last part for my never ending server number two, i better get going now and colocate this thing! ^_^

We all know; there are many commercial products for Hadoop Automation, OpenStack Automation, Bare-metal automation, Server automation, Complete Server automation and open source tools that automate this process. Visit www.stackiq.com
today i received some CPUs by mail (not insured, not nothing and on the outside it said what it contains, two Xeons including value... it's a miracle they arrived! (well, or my mailman isn't a geek, which is quite possible)...
these are for my second server, so in total, my website will run on four (old) xeons... four cores! ...eeeerm... ;-)
