Qnap TS-509 Pro Home Server/Network Storage. 1.2TB capacity (RAID5), here is where I store my pictures.
The innards of my file server. I lost a drive, so, when I had the case open, I figured I'd take a pic to show everyone what I'm running. There are so many cables in there that I have to move them out of the way and close the case as fast as I can to get it closed.
This guy is a P4-1.8Ghz running CentOS 4.1. It has a Highpoint RocketRaid 1740 SATA RAID controller that puts my 4x 300G SATA drives into a RAID5, giving me abut 900G of usable space. This is presented to the OS as a single drive, which is put into a volume group that is chopped up into a series of logical volumes. Not all the space is used fully, so, if I need more space for a logical volume later, I can just expand it with the unused space. I love LVM.
kathy and i got new jobs as waitresses, so the first thing we did was decorate our server books
if anyone there is gonna gaudy, its gonna be us!
