This is the school's server room, located behind the new elevator, which can be seen in the bump out to the left.
My server had a little planned downtime, my server had to move to another rack and in the meantime I could swap some memory-modules... I also smuggled this C64 I just bought(!) inside the datacenter, but I couldn't fit it inside the rack... I'll mount some rails to it and take it back to the datacenter! :-)
Im making a server and from now it looks nice.

FreeNAS Server build. Too bad one of the Hitachi Deskstar "Death-Star" drives was DOA (dead on arrival).

today i received some CPUs by mail (not insured, not nothing and on the outside it said what it contains, two Xeons including value... it's a miracle they arrived! (well, or my mailman isn't a geek, which is quite possible)...
these are for my second server, so in total, my website will run on four (old) xeons... four cores! ...eeeerm... ;-)
May 15, 2008. Temperature outside was 100 degrees; temperature in the office was about 92. Fans and ice packs keep the XServe's memory module from overheating.
Our server had an interesting, middle-European look. I made this picture as she approached our table to take our drink order. She looked straight at the lens and gave me that "let's get this over with" look. Processing the photograph in PS CS6 yielded something which turned out to be far more than I expected. Desaturating the photograph and burning the edges gave me the look I wanted. And, the restaurant makes delicious Georgian/Russian fare that is hard to find in Central Florida. Look up Ararat Restaurant.
