Driving trailer of the 1957 TEE trainset, on display at Amsterdam Zaanstraat, September 15, 2007. This end of the train has been repainted in the original 1957 paint scheme. On the right is former NS electric engine 1202, designed by Baldwin/Westinghouse in 1950.

This train ran from Toronto to North Bay for about 15 years, but has now been returned to the Netherlands to be restored in it's 1957 TEE outfit.

In early fifties some European railway companies conceived the Trans Europ Express network, to link the most important European capitals. The Dutch and Swiss railway built five diesel powered trainsets that ran as TEE "Edelweiss" Amsterdam-Zürich (and some other trains).

In the early seventies the trains became obsolete and were replaced with regular passenger coaches and electric locomotives. The trainsets were sold to Ontario Northland 1977. Already in 1979 ON replaced the original power cars with FP7 engines. In the early nineties ON replaced the aging trains with regular loco hauled trains. A Swiss railfan organization bought four of the former TEE coaches, including two driving trailers. In 2005 the Dutch organization Stichting TEE (www.stichtingtee.nl/) bought these cars and plans to restore them to their former glory. The organization also plans to rebuild a power car.

27 September 2014. For several days I was in Japan (Tokyo) because I was playing a chiptune/micromusic concert there. You can find entire video from the concert here, by the way ;) www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOx9InNtU3A So. Also I spent some time walking around and taking photos.

The staying there was really very very incredible ;) for a person from Europe. Hence, this is a not very typical album for me because the subject is a city, not a nature. But I hope You don't mind. ;)

Anyways. This time I used the Lomography Diana Mini - and it did a good job. ;) The film I used was Kodak Color Plus 200.

I also took my Diana F+ with me (this is a proof!! yerzmyey.republika.pl/Yerz_with_Diana_camera_in_Japan2014... ) and if there are some interesting photos from it too, maybe I will make a "part 2" of this album later, we will see. ;)

Bendenoun, Coins of the Ancient World, A Portrait of the JDL Collection, Tradart, Genève, 2009, 49 (this coin). Condition Very rare and among the finest specimens known. A delicate portrait of sublime style, Tiber tone. Extremely fine. Provenance Tradart Genève SA, Genève 1993, lot 197. Sotheby’s, Hunt sale I, New York 1990, lot 124. Bank Leu AG 7, Zürich 1973, lot 338. From the Hunt and Weintraub collections. Note Agrippina Senior was among the most deserving, yet least fortunate of the Julio-Claudian women. After her marriage in A.D. 5 to Augustus’ preferred heir, Germanicus, she was poised to achieve a status on par with the empress Livia. However, with the death of Augustus and the accession of Tiberius, power within the dynasty shifted decisively from the Julians to the Claudians. Even though Agrippina’s marriage offered a union of the two bloodlines, her prospects did not survive under Tiberius. When Germanicus died at Antioch late in A.D. 19 under suspicious circumstances, Agrippina devoted herself to opposing Tiberius and his prefect Sejanus. Finally, in 29, Tiberius deprived her of freedom, and in 33 she died in exile. Three issues of sestertii were struck for Agrippina Senior, all posthumously. The first, produced by her son Caligula, shows on its reverse a carpentum; the second, issued by her brother Claudius, has on its reverse a large SC surrounded by a Claudian inscription; the third is a restoration of the Claudian type by the emperor Titus (79-81), whose inscriptions are substituted for those of Claudius. The obvese inscription on Caligula’s issue, AGRIPPINA M F MAT C CAESARIS AVGVSTI, describes Agrippina as the daughter of Marcus (Agrippa) and the mother of Gaius (Caligula). Claudius’ inscription also identifies her as Agrippa’s daughter, but ends GERMANICI CAESARIS, thus shifting the focus from her being the mother of Caligula to being the widow of Claudius’ deceased brother Germanicus. Distinctions in the portraits follow the same lines as the inscriptions: on the issue of Caligula, Agrippina has a slender profile like that of her son, whereas on Claudius’ her face is broader and fuller, in keeping with his appearance.

Tuesday 01 September 2009: Remix of same outfit worn to our son's graduation ceremony on 14 June 2009. Had to get the white shoes and bag in one last time before Labor Day, of course. They're now safely ensconced on the top shelf of my cloest until next Spring. The dress, which reminds me of Oleg Cassini and Jackie O, will get heavy rotation this Fall. Today, worn for a meeting with the landlord, a photoshoot and lovely Japanese dinner with my man.

Two series 363 locomotives were recently painted in the current corporate livery by Slovenske železnice. Along with 363-005, which was restored in 2011 to the livery in which Alsthom delivered the locomotive to the Yugoslav Railways, the duo are popular subjects for photography. With their replacement approaching, 363-001 and 363-021 will likely remain the only ones of their series in blue. The latter hauled an ore train past Laze pri Dolskem on September 10, 2025, as the rain poured down. However, that didn't spoil the fun!

In Tsjechië rijden in de weekends tal van extra treinen, ook op spoorlijnen die geen normaal reizigersvervoer meer kennen. In een aantal gevallen komt hiervoor historisch materieel op de baan. A photo from a past fall in Jackson Hole, WY (USA).

That year I was in Jackson from late September to October 10 and what a show it was...maybe one of the most intense I've seen over the years. The majority of the trees you see here are Cottonwoods.

I was looking at the various web cams a little earlier today and I saw where a storm front was moving through the area. And my guess is that once it passes through you'll see the first early snow on the upper elevations of the Tetons.

Another thing the web cams revealed ... the trees haven't changed much. With temps dropping nicely into the 30's at night my guess is that in 2 weeks the colors will really start popping out but the weekend of Sept 23rd will probably disappoint those who are there for the fall colors....it just looks like they will be late this year. Hey, that's ok...I'll be there through Oct. 4th.

This shot was on a day when the branch from the Snake River going through Lower Schwabacher's Landing was perfectly still.

The pdf version to my upcoming ebook "Jackson Hole, WY - A Photographer's Shooting Guide" is now completed. See my profile for more info on obtaining a copy.

Hope to see you there between Sept 28 and Oct 4..

The Hungarian railway company MÁV has no money for new locomotives and is therefore trying to alleviate the worst of the need with older ones. For example, old Danish diesel locomotives are in service at Lake Balaton, and Tauruses and Sybics have been leased from Akiem.
