Over the last 50 plus years there is not much of the UK railway system I have not travelled over. One bit of railway that had escaped is the Great Eastern branch from Shenfield to Southend Victoria which I can now mentally “tick off”. The branch opened in 1889 and the Great Eastern Railway provided at Southend a four platform terminal station, goods yard and extensive carriage sidings. To control movements it built a large signal box situated at the north end of the station. The box closed on the 1st September 1992 when the area was transferred to Liverpool Street IECC however is still standing twenty six years later although rather derelict, 5th September 2018. Any further information regarding Southend Victoria Signal Box gratefully received.
