Four pictures of the same bobcat, hunting this morning in one of the giant California oaks behind our house. The jays, crows and squirrels were having a fit, which alerted Jackee to his presence. He climbed down and left after about 15 minutes of hunting.

Don and I are off camping for the next couple of weeks as of Friday. See you in September, if we don't get eaten by a bear!
September 1, 2013 - Kearney Nebraska
Hey its Nebraska... With the game playing in the background... Nebraska (Huskers) Football was in session and if your a College Football Fan... That takes precedence over storm chasing. Some might laugh at this but their are some small rural towns that will shut down during a Husker Football event. Win or Lose!
I would have to look back to this date and see whom played that evening, but the Huskers had a substantial lead and I knew this was coming close. Packed up a few cams and headed out for this September night storm.
This was a beauty. This storm cell was pulling out some incredible cloud to cloud lightning. It was illuminating the night sky with some frighting delightful thunderstorm ambiance! Not only did I get this, a nice wall cloud was present the whole time but never produced a tornado that evening. Sure was purdy to look at though as you can see in this set of captures.
Eventually this storm would become outflow dominate. Once you see the shelf cloud forming then this storm changed. With all that ambient lightning it made this one of best night storms of 2013.

43320 leads a southbound East Coast express at Hensall, 1st September 2011. 43320 was built at Crewe works as 43120 in 1979 and was one of two power cars built as spares for Western Region services. It has remained on these Western Region duties until transferred to Neville Hill in the mid 1980’s for East Coast Main Line services on which it has remained ever since. In October 2006 it was the third East Coast power car to be admitted to the Brush works, Loughborough to be “re-engineered” and has had its original Paxman Valenta engine replaced by a MTU unit. It re-entered service on the East Coast Main Line in January 2007.
Withdrawn in May 2021 it was exported to Mexico in February 2024 for further use.
Great Western Railway 2-6-2T L150 (5521) departs Swanwick, Midland Railway Centre, for Butterley, 1st September 2016.
Locomotive History
L150 (5521) is a Great Western Railway 45xx class 2-6-2T engine. From 4575 the design was modified to incorporate larger, sloping-top tanks for increased range. A total of one hundred and seventy five class 45xx locomotives were built at Swindon Works and 5521 (part of lot number 249) entered traffic in December 1927, allocated to Newton Abbot MPD. At Nationalisation in 1948 it was allocated to Taunton, where it remained until transferred in June 1951 to Machynlleth. Its stay in Wales was short and it returned to the West Country in November 1951, allocated to St. Blazey. It transferred back to Taunton in August 1958 and to Laira in November 1961 from where it was withdrawal in April 1962. 5521 was sold to Woodham Bros. Barry and languished in South Wales until it was sold for preservation to the Dean Forest Railway in late 1975. It was finally restored at The Flour Mill in the Forest of Dean between 2004 and 2007. As part of its overhaul it has been fitted with Westinghouse air pump on the driver's side, giving 5521 a dual (vacuum/air) train brake capability. It would spend the 2007 - 2009 in Poland returning to the United Kingdom in 2009. In May 2013, at the request of London Underground, the locomotive was painted in red London Transport livery (similar to that worn by the Great Western Railway pannier tanks used by London Transport until 1971) and numbered L.150, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Metropolitan Line. The loco has since operated special trains on London Underground and visited a number of other Heritage Railways.
