Notice the wear and tear on this sign? Evidently grizzly bears liked to chew on it, so park rangers put nails on the edges. Now, grizzly bears use it for a back scratching post.

The sensitive briar is known for its leaves, which fold up when touched, but here I focused on the briar part of the plant's name; even its seed pod is covered with prickles.

These two cute flowers were growing by the beach.

A sensitive plant in a garden grew,

And the young winds fed it with silver dew,

And it opened its fan-like leaves to the light,

and closed them beneath the kisses of night.

~Percy Bysshe Shelley, "The Sensitive Plant," 1820

Some days we women are a little more sensitive than usual!

It doesn't take much and we'll blow up. We quickly feel attacked, misunderstood and hurt.

It may well be that when we are close to our days, we will become a lot more sensitive or thin today. That a word or a sentence throws us completely off guard. That something that doesn't normally bother us can completely infuriate us.

It can happen that I get up in the morning and already have inner tension. I would love to spend the whole day outside. But this is not possible.

So it means getting out of the situation more quickly if something happens and being even more attentive to yourself and your needs.

Take time for yourself and take breaks throughout the day. Don't take everything to heart or feel personally attacked.

Run a bath, read a book, take a tea break. A wellness evening or go out into nature.

No matter what, do something that you enjoy.

We recently re-planted our sensitive plant to a bigger pot and it's really taken off ever since. Here's a neat video that shows why it's such a cool plant: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zq3UuHlPLQU
