Norfolk Southern Local H06 is seen skimming Seneca Lake as they depart Geneva, NY with interchange from the Finger Lakes Railway. This local runs out of Gang Mills up the Corning Secondary to the FGLK interchange in Geneva. We stumbled upon this job after sight seeing around scenic Geneva and as we headed toward Watkins Glen, the chase was on as the Finger Lakes owned line parallels Seneca Lake down toward Himrod.

The Seneca Bluffs Natural Habitat Park consists of approximately 20 acres of riparian floodplain coastal forest with upland meadows located in a heavily urbanized area along the Buffalo River.
Seneca Bluffs was identified in 1994 as one of five unique and critical habitat areas in need of protection. The site provides habitat for a wide variety of flora and fauna and is part of a larger wildlife corridor along the river. The park protects 3,000 feet of Buffalo River shoreline just upstream of the Seneca Street Bridge and the designated Buffalo River Area of Concern.
This area of the city was formerly part of the Seneca Buffalo Creek Reservation, which was dissolved in the 1840s.

This is the historic knitting mill that was once called the Woolen Mill. They used to manufacture heavy woolen socks in this establishment. This is now the National Women's Hall Of Fame.
Seneca Rocks is a large crag rock formation and local landmark in Pendleton County in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, USA. It is easily visible and accessible along West Virginia Route 28 in the Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area. One of the best-known scenic attractions in West Virginia, the sheer rock faces of Seneca Rocks are a popular challenge for rock climbers.

On a back road in West Virginia, I was half heartedly driving towards Spruce Knob. I was less than enthused to go up to West Virginia's high point on a day that was alternating rain and overcast. All the small towns and communities kept my interest as they petered out towards the forest roads, and after passing through one a hollow containing a collection of houses, an abandoned gas station and a good number of heads turning to watch me pass through, I followed Seneca Creek to this little scene along it's gentle banks. Although it was early in the morning, it was long past sunup--yet the clouds seemed to become darker as I set up. This is a 13 second exposure, unusual at this time of day.
It was beautiful day to visit Seneca Rocks. Amazing to watch the climbers working their way up the steep sides. I didn't take the hike up....maybe next visit :)
P45 pulls into Seneca, SC to begin its journey down the Z Line with a trio of old school geeps in the lead.
This is not abandoned as I originally thought. Saturday is was all closed up, but Monday the doors were open.

Seneca Lake is the largest of the Finger Lakes in New York State. At 38 miles (60 km) long, it is the second longest of the Finger Lakes and has the largest volume, estimated at 4.2 trillion US gallons (16 km³), roughly half of the water in all the Finger Lakes. It has a maximum depth of 618 feet (188 m), and a mean depth of 291 feet (89 m). It has a surface area of 42,800 acres (171 km²).

Two cool things about this quaint town:
1) The birth of the Women's Rights movement. You can see the area where in the bottom left hand corner where Elizabeth Cady Stanton led the first meetings to push for a woman's right to vote.
2) If you've ever seen the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" you've seen a romanticized version of this town. Indeed, "Bedford Falls" has many of the same charms as Seneca Falls and Frank Capra spent some time in upstate New York before he began filming his now famous work. Happy Friday!

One of the best-known scenic attractions in West Virginia, the sheer rock faces are a popular challenge for rock climbers.Seneca Rocks is easily visible and accessible along West Virginia Route 28 near U.S. Route 33 in the Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area of the Monongahela National Forest.

Seneca Lake, Finger Lakes NY
The Seneca School House was built as a community school in 1865; it was taken over by theMontgomery County, Maryland school system in 1876 and operated until 1910. It was built of locally quarried Seneca red sandstone, the same stone used to build the Smithsonian Institution (the Castle) on the National Mall.

Tot i que en els darrers dies he pujat ja diverses fotografies de material d’Adif, avui, amb la foto número 1300 pujada en aquesta galeria repeteixo amb un tren laboratori d’Adif. Abans d’iniciar les proves amb els trens de la sèrie 103 de Renfe, es va realitzar una jornada de proves amb l’A330 d’Adif, també conegut com a Séneca, un tren que sol ser complicat de veure. Sabent això amb en Jacob ens vam apropar a Hostalric, on vam arribar que encara era fosc. Anava passant l’estona fins que en Sergio ens va avisar de que aquest venia, i dit i fet, en tant sols 15 minuts el tenÃem ja passant per davant nostre, camà de Figueres Vilafant. M’agradaria des d’aquestes lÃnies donar-vos les grà cies a tots els que cada dia perdeu uns minutets en passar per aquesta galeria.

Antes de iniciar las pruebas con los trenes de la serie 103 de Renfe, se realizó una jornada de pruebas con el A330 de Adif, también conocido como Séneca, un tren que suele ser complicado de ver. Sabiendo esto con Jacob nos acercamos a Hostalric, donde llegamos que aún era oscuro. Iba pasando el rato hasta que Sergio nos avisó de que este venÃa, y dicho y hecho, en tan solo 15 minutos ya lo tenÃamos pasando por delante de nosotros, camino de Figueres Vilafant. Me gustarÃa desde estas lÃneas daros las gracias a todos los que cada dÃa perdéis unos minutillos en pasar por esta galerÃa.
